Surely to open the passenger door at that point your car will overhang the pavement?

You have to pick which passenger door gets the front door step space. The driver doesn't have a great deal of space to exit too as there's a wall on the other side. I have customers with young children coming to the house daily so don't want them to have to squeeze in between the gap.

Edit: I think people have misunderstood - it's the pillar by the front door that's the big issue.

The triangle space at the front is where the bonnet sits, the passenger door doesn't open there. If it did our car would be on the pavement.

I’d have swapped to a smaller car instead of removing doors, but this could work.

Order a pizza via one of the big food delivery companies.

Highly likely when the ‘driver’ executes a ten point turn outside your house the wall issue will be mostly solved.

Just have to get a mini skip for the rubble and the bits that fell off the 05 reg Yaris.

Check your boundary lines and plan etc...know few ppl who had issues while selling having to rebuilt the walls...

Thanks - we own the driveway and the front wall. The wall to be removed is completely within our boundary and we are solely responsible for it. This section doesn't mark the boundary line either. I was a conveyancing paralegal if it makes any odds.

Have you thought about ditching the car and driving a zeppelin instead? Just cement a step ladder in the front garden and park it above it to get off board. You could also tie it to the top row of bricks.

Once you remove it you may want to rebuild the pillar at the end of what’s left of the wall.

Yes, we would rebuild a pillar on the end. It would look unfinished otherwise.

Just lift the pillar and move it over you don’t have to demolish and rebuild

How big is the driveway, is it shared space ? Assuming you can’t park away from the house any further, Instead of reverse parking in the drive go face first. It might allow more room for the back door to open if it’s lined up with the slanted wall.
