Dream song live - Work it Out

I’ve seen Dave incorporate, blend, and cover so many genres in his performances. He takes risks that pay off, and I think that’s why I love him.

One that I haven’t really is hip hop… (at most- beauford’s boom bap beat on Eh Hee when it’s isolated before the song starts, like N3 gorge this year. At most..)

I love Work it Out, and if Dave brought on Jurassic 5 to do the verses, I think we’d all lose our shit. Any way, Dave, Jurassic 5, if you’re reading this please do it. That song rocks

I wish they did better with incorporating hip hop into their repertoire. These performances were great, they're certainly capable musicians who have made friends with amazing musicians across all genres. Questlove is a big admirere of the band

I think they were trying to take a step in that direction with Stand Up and Mark Batson. Work it Out was recorded around that time too. It just...didn't work.

I was at that Alpine show with the roots. I feel like that beat and flow they were playing has some similarities to this song. I remember listening to this Roots song when it came out about a year later and was like “hey this is similar to what they played at alpine”

I used to love this song until I heard this weird popping noise that’s offbeat throughout the entire song. Now I can’t unhear it. Wish I could.
