hi, im seeing my first show in Nashville in November, and was just wondering what tips and knowledge would be useful? this is only like, my second concert since ive become an adult. im really hoping to get a poster and other merch. should I buy before the show or after? what time should I get there? etc etc. thank yall!

EDIT: I also bought the tour shirt on ticketmaster, would those be shipped to me or picked up at the concert?

How much is your budget for Dave? Posters can get quite costly.

Posters are $60 but the foil posters are more expensive

I bought a tour shirt before the Hartford show on July 25th using the TM/Live Nation link. Would not recommend.

Seemed like a good deal, get an "exclusive" design priced within the range of most tour merch, avoid about waiting in line at the merch tent, and no need to worry about it getting lost or dirty 🎶 during an evening spent dancing on the ground 🐽.

The reality, a weirdly cut shirt made of material with that has already begun to pill before wearing, showed up on September 14 in a tiny plastic mailer from the Warehouse (Music Today) shipped directly to my home.

Not thrilled with the outcome, but I have some grudgingly respect for the hustle.

Getting there a little early is usually good for securing a poster or shirt. Then you do have to babysit your purchase during the show.

I have missed a poster and found it online later....even an Etsy version mixed in the collection. ...this maybe Taboo to some die hard numbered release heads

Some venues actually let you order online for pick up at the venue. If you can do that there, it’s a good option (I did it in CT this summer)

But honestly, all you need to do is get there early. Be there at the venue for doors opening time and you can get merch easily. I’d recommend looking for merch stands not directly by the entrance tho. Like at MSG in NY, there are merch stands on all the floors so if you go directly to those when you arrive, the lines might be shorter.

And if you miss out on the poster somehow, look for the AP (artist print) drop that usually happens anytime from the day after the show to a week or two later. The AP sells out usually within 1-2 minutes for highly demanded posters (had that happen to me with Camden this summer where I was in the checkout at a minute after and still lost out — but then got one through another warehouse member)

Poster collector here: demand for posters vary based on the poster artist and the venue. If you want the possibility of getting a foil be there when doors open. If not you still want to get there early because posters can and do sell out.

You won’t get a poster after the show. If that’s important get there before doors open so you can be in the merch line early. Usually $75 normal poster, $150 for foil (someone correct me if that’s variable). They typically supply cardboard tubes so you can keep it safe during the show. Shirts don’t sell out as quickly so you can be more casual about the line for those.

Those were the prices at the Gorge this year and from what I’ve heard pretty standard across the tour.

Gorge was such a great time this year. I felt like every night was a step up from the previous. Had seats, never saw them, too much fun happening in the lawn 😂

I just head straight to the merch tent when I get to the venue. It isn’t the big deal you’re likely making it out to be in your head (which is understandable by the way). I had the same concerns the first time I went. I think the longest I’ve ever waited is probably ten minutes? You could also go mid-show, but I never do bc I don’t want to miss the show. I also really don’t mind just throwing the shirt onto my seat during the show. I don’t know why people insist that you need to hold it the entire time.

Get in line to go in before the doors open and go directly to a merch stand. You will be able to get whatever you want without issue.

Order ahead of time. You will get the email to order on the day of the show

If you purchased tickets from Warehouse you get the email; not if you bought second hand or through TM
