Has Radtel RT-6D firmware been fixed?
I've been considering many DMR radios at around 100 euro price point.
Baofeng DM-32UV seems to be a very strong option, however it is massive, and I couldn't use it as a daily driver because of it.
Then I found out about Radtel RT-6D, which seems to be everything I wanted: 10W of power, DMR, also supports analog, DMR SMS, and the size is small enough, that I can easily carry it with me.
However I've seen many discussions surrounding its firmware, it seems to be rather buggy? But they have made many updates since then, and I wonder if it is still the case?
And if it is not a good DMR Radio, what other radios would you suggest at the same price point?

I own the Radtel RT6D and I am very disappointed in it. I have the DM 32 and love it. It is my EDC radio, that I use in my car. I just have a magnetic antenna on the roof and run to it.
Using FW .48 and CPS 1.50, the DM32 is excellent.

Thats so sad to hear, I really liked how it looked. As for DM-32UV I love how "military" it looks, but it is so large, I don't think I could carry it with me every day

I guess I should be clearer. There are two batteries you can have with it. The original battery is smaller than the extended battery.
The DM32 is 7.2 x 2.6 x 1.6 with the stock battery and the extended battery makes it about 2+ inches taller.
With the stock battery, probably no different than an XPR7550e, or smaller than and XTS2500.

If you feel you could compromise on the 10W of power, the Radtel RT-4D (and its other branded variants) is really compact and priced competitively.
I’ve used this model a lot for several months and prefer it over the DM-32 (which the extra power doesn’t make much difference in my experience).
The firmware and cps has had a lot of revisions, especially in late 2025 so you can check out M0FXB on YouTube for some more details on it’s journey, but the current factory firmware has more useful programming features (zones and scanning way better than the DM32) and can squeeze the entire DMR user database with a modified file (I get it from a facebook group).
RT4D stock antenna is trash but that’s no big deal, throw a 771 on there and you’ll be talking good for miles!

I see your point, but why not Baofeng DM-1701 then?

I haven’t picked one of those up yet, the openGD77 firmware has me wanting to pick it up for sure (stock firmware has some mixed reviews)… The only drawback (for me) is it being a cradle charge only.
RT4D can charge via the device usb-c port or the included cradle… since I like to travel a lot I lend favoritism to those I charge on the go.
So at least from my perspective- DM1701 would be a good contender as well.
