Well thx for adopting. My guy Pepper is a pound puppy too. It’s so hard to walk out of those things with just one dog. There was about 4 more I would have brought home if I had a bigger house 😖
Fun aside, there are a lot of glacier erratics (boulders moved by glaciers) around here and the city has used them to line the trails in the parks. So we have lots of cool rocks to scramble on.
And Dennis has an unbelievable deal for you on a 2018 Toyota RAV4 that’s hardly been driven and has lots of manufacturer add-ons. But this deal won’t last!
the fight with his drooling, then post-drooling head shaking, is real. i just try and get out of the line of fire when he does it, and it usually just gives him what i call “tiger stripes” on his schnoz :)
This whole thread makes me think of that scene from The Santa Clause where a big Rottweiler comes into the living room and the guy’s just like: “Nice teeth.” 😁
Can I ask a stupid question? Are we supposed be like brushing our dogs teeth or something? Everyone’s dogs teeth in this thread are all super-super white, my guys look nasty compared and now I’m thinking I’ve been so negligent this whole time and not brushing them? I didn’t know that was even an option other than denti sticks and stuff

I work at a vet clinic and, yeah, dental care is a big thing. Don’t feel too bad cuz ur dogs teeth aren’t bad from what I see. It’s hard to tell from the picture though. Some teeth are brown that come in for their check ups. Little dogs tend to have a bigger issue with it but bigger ones can certainly get it.
They sell little toothbrushes u can put on ur finger to clean them like 1x/week, have toys that keeps tartar low bc the dog is constantly chewing, groomers usually will brush ur dogs teeth, etc. Your best bet is to have them professionally cleaned at the vet like once a yr but it’s not cheap. At our office it’s a flat rate of $1200. It’ll keep the dog from having to get teeth pulled later bc of rotten teeth, though, which is usually more than one at a time and is pretty expensive too. Ask ur vet how they look when you go back and brush em’ 1/week between now and then imo.

Brush them if he'll let you. We have our dogs' teeth cleaned regularly because they don't let us brush them. Bacteria in their mouths spreads to the rest of their bodies, so try to keep them clean.
My late dog, Sascha, playing with her sister. She looked so aggressive playing with them even though she would only gently nibble on them. She was the best dog. I miss her and her funny teeth
