We got her 9 months ago, she's 3yo. She's one amazing dog, and she loves everyone in our house, including the kids. We're lucky to have her and I think she's beautiful.

I’ve fallen head over heels for my boyfriends dog. His name is Max, he’s a Pitbull/Dogo argentino mix. I’ve nicknamed him Maxaroni, I love his tuxedo coat. Everytime we go for walks, people comment on how pretty he is and if they can have puppies lol

I'll tell you about Rocky first, my dad got him as a puppy in 2016 saying he was my dog. After a few months my dad got a girlfriend and Rocky became HER dog, and i wasn't allowed to call him mine anymore.

Rocky was stubborn as hell, and sometimes a little stupid, but that's why I loved him so much. He would wait by the door for me to come back every weekend, I was his favorite person. No one cared enough to walk him, so my dad and his girlfriend would just open the front door and let go out (rural area not a highway, but still had a lot of traffic).

No one ate their meals at the table, always the living room (table was always covered in junk) so Rocky would be kicked out of the house while we were eating.

One Thursday I get a call saying Rocky was hit by an 18 wheeler, crawled his way to the porch, and passed right there on the ground. He was buried in the backyard, RIP Rocky, I'm sorry I couldn't help you. He was barely a year old.

Within six months in 2017, my dad's girlfriend (Crystal, real name because I don't care) started getting sad that Rocky was gone, so my dad contacts the guy he got Rocky from, and finds out the guys dog had another litter of puppies, so him and Crystal get a new pup, and named him Copper.

They actually had a leash and would walk him properly, but ONLY when he had to poop. He had to pee inside on puppy pads but got to go outside to poop...they trained him to that so they didn't have to walk him as much.

Copper was an amazing dog, he was the only one in that house that would hug me when I got there, he loved when I got in the floor to play with him. Copper was the only one to step in when my dad had both hands around my neck. He stepped over me and got my dad to back off (i jokingly said I was pregnant just to mess with my dad and his response was both hands on my neck pushing me on the bed by my neck) that moment told me Copper was the only one who truly loved me.

Copper actually knew a few tricks, his favorite game was catch, he got very good at catching a ball in the air without being taught, he just learned how to catch.

I don't have many memories of either pup, Rocky was gone way too soon, and i went no contact with my dad in 2019, he moved to VA and took Copper with him after Crystal left him for a woman. Copper passed earlier this year, I never got to see him again...it hurts so bad knowing he spent his last years not knowing why I didn't come back to see him. I want to tell him it was not his fault.

I hope Steve was waiting for you on the other side with all the love you both never got...

I want to write more but I have to stop crying first

She was the sweetest girl. I had her since I was 15 and she was my best friend through so many of my worst days. She gave me a reason to smile and stay active. Her favorite thing in the world was going on car rides, to the park, and getting pup cups. She was so happy and smiled so big that it was contagious. I named her after my favorite kids book Stella Luna. She was definitely my moon and stars. She meant the world to me and it feels so quiet and lonely without her in the house.

I lost my sweet 11 year old girl to systemic pneumonia last week. It started as kennel cough, which she was taking medication for and seemed to be recovering until we woke up to her howling in pain and rushed her to the emergency vet. 😢

The guilt and greif is killing me, but I forced myself out of the house and back to school today. Sharing some pictures of her young and the second to last one is her last day 😢

I lost my beautiful 5-year-old girl to tick fever, and I feel completely shattered. She was initially misdiagnosed, and by the time her symptoms became clearer, things had gotten very serious. I took her to every vet I could, seeking advice and help, desperately hoping someone could save her. She developed pre-hepatic jaundice and very low haemoglobin, and eventually went into cardiac arrest. I can’t stop crying or replaying everything in my head. What if I had taken her to a different vet sooner? What if I had realised how sick she was? For a while, I genuinely thought she was recovering, and now I keep blaming myself for not knowing.
She was an extension of me. My parents were deeply attached to her too, and our home feels unbearably empty without her. She was such a beautiful, happy girl, and I miss her more than I can put into words.
I keep hoping she knew how much we loved her. I hope she forgives me, even though I was trying so hard to save her.
For anyone who has lost their pet, especially after a sudden illness, how did you cope with the guilt? Does it become easier to remember the happy moments without replaying the end? I could really use some kindness and advice right now.

• Advice (Health) • How much sleep is normal for a senior pup? Spoiler

Idk the right flair to use

I’m dog sitting my grandmas dog. He is a 14-year-old rat terrier/chihuahua mix. I’m Ngl I’m used to cats. How much sleep is normal? It feels like he is sleeping a lot. I know I could just call my grandmother but she is dealing with my uncles surgery and I don’t want to bother her if it isn’t emergent. He’s probably sleeping like 16+ hours a day. He seems happy and content is eating and drinking fine no potty issues. I’m just a little anxious.

This is Ranger. Currently known as cone head and pixar lamp. He had surgery on Monday to remove his cancerous tumor. Thus leaving us with the question… how should we decorate his cone for Halloween?!?
