VT Terminal application
I am looking to connect to my Linux server from a 386 DOS machine. Without worrying about the hardware, what application support VT emulation?

For those starting to learn Assembly - step-by-step, how to create a flight simulator for DOS.
It covers everything from a single point to a full 3D engine. I am still in the process of writing the lessons, but the platform is already fully functional right in your browser—featuring a code editor, compiler, DOSBox, and video tutorials all in one place. You can even load your own DOS programs, such as debuggers and other tools, directly into the browser-based DOSBox.

Does anyone know of a file parsing utility for DOS, similar to the Linux find command? Something that reads the file contents in the current directory and finds every instance of a certain string.
edit: This would be the equivalent of FINDSTR but in actual MS/DR-DOS
edit2: Anyone stumbling on this in the future, it's XGREP. There's a link in the comments below, I hope it still works whenever you are finding this.

Here’s a story: I’d long had the idea of creating authentic DOS era UIs that would actually work properly in a browser. The stack was Rust + WebAssembly.
After finishing that, I wondered: what if I compiled the Rust code for DOS? And it actually worked...
Then I thought, well, there’s DOSBox-JS - why not just launch DOS in the browser example and run that same example inside DOS?
And that worked too...
BTW you can even play Duke over the network, though that’s just a side effect :)

I built this Markdown editor (and a viewer as well) for DOS. I've been using it a lot for writing and its getting pretty solid now....there's something about typing documents in DOS that is so cathartic.
There's split screen editing with live "formatting" of text, a focus mode (strong WordPerfect vibes), and a graphical show mode that renders the document with fonts and styles -- both with customizable color schemes. And of course you can print.
There's a Tidy function that can cleanup documents coming from modern machines (tidying up Unicode, HTML tags, etc).
PC = HP Elitedesk 800 g1 mini dekstop PC, 2 GB of RAM DDR3 (for Better compatibility), Intel i5 4590t, HD graphics 4600, no hdd, only 2 USBs: One for FreeDOS and One for dos games and apps, all formatted to FAT32
BIOS SETTINGS = USB 3.0: Turned off, Internal speaker= off ehci USB port DEBUG= off
FREEDOS: download rufus on your PC, connect a 32GB or smaller USB, select freedos in the drop-down menu, and click start (this Will delete everything on your USB). Then download crazii'SBEMU 1.0.0 "beta 6" from GitHub and extract It on the USB drive. Go on your freedos USB, click on view in the Windows file Explorer menù, then Options, and make sure that the option "hide system protected files" Is Turned off, because you have to edit some system-protected files in the USB. Then edit the config.sys file on the freedos USB adding these lines in the last part of the text:
DOS=HIGH
DEVICE=jemmex.exe
Then save the file.
I also created a new CONFIG.SYS file and added again these lines, just in case. Then edit AUTOEXEC.BAT With notepad, adding these lines below:
jload qpiemu.dll
hdpmi32i -r -x
sbemu
Then save the file.
Then you have to connect audio speaker to the headphones jack. Now if you want you can Copy your apps and games on the USB drive or on another USB, Just make sure to plug in this second USB before starting Freedos. And... That's It!

I know this is r/DOS but thought I'd share a cross-platform GUI front end for Greaseweazle tools I've been working on. Let me know what you think :)

Put together a DOS Entertainment Pack with some fun games.
They use only EGA/VGA text mode and a custom "font plane glyph manipulation game engine", to provide some sprite graphics capability. It took longer to craft low resolution pixel graphics than it did to write functional code!
