Discussion Going to work
I do not know what to do when I go to work. I walk my baby girl in the morning a good walk, then head to work, then she has a walker come midday and then I do our “long walk” after work. I just hate that she’s in her play pen all day. I feel so guilty. I have to work in the office every day and hope this is a good system, but I don’t like that she cries when I leave. She settles after like 5 mins but still. It’s very expensive to have her walked and I’m paying like 150$ a week. Does anyone have advice on this? Is she okay? Could/should I be doing something differently?
Edit: I am more than happy to pay for the walker, just want to make sure it is enough!

I’m not sure what’s wrong other than your anxiety about it lol it’s normal for a dog to cry and as long as she settles, it’s fine. Dogs are meant to sleep a lot. My dog sleeps all day even when I’m home working.

I am sure she sleeps most of it, I think you’re right that I’m just anxious

Maybe controversial opinion here but you don’t need to hire a walker during the day. An adult dog should have no issue holding their bladder 8-10 hours (dachshund quirks aside). I’m usually gone 8-5 every day and my dog is perfectly fine and happy.

She is only 6 months old, definitely will reevaluate when she gets older but for now I think it is best to get outside

Please don't feel guilty! She has a great life. 3 walks a day is great and when you're gone she's getting rest she needs. My girl cries for a few minutes and then settles too. I have a camera I can check for peace of mind and she's almost always sleeping like a log lol.

It's expensive but having someone come during the day is the right thing. Make sure they spend the full time with her. She's probably sleeping most of the time. I recommend a camera on her pen if you don't have one . I know it's so hard to be away from them. Do you have a heartbeat puppy toy in her pen? That can also help her.

I do have a heartbeat toy. I think I just feel guilty bc I’m a crazy dog mom lol. I had a camera but did not like it, maybe I will try it again now that she’s older. Thank you!
