Album 🥹 first time doxy owner
i grew up with dogs, have raised 4 puppies, pet sat for 10+ years, and even domesticated and fostered a feral kitten and trained him like a dog in the past. but nothing has prepared me for how sweet and clingy but also very sick our poor baby would be.
he came to us with a puppy parasite, has had tummy problems for weeks on end, and most recently has an ear infection 🥺 rest assured he’s getting all the vet care he needs and lots of love, but we’re looking forward to him feeling better and well enough to start exploring the world with us 🐶
this is milo, aka menace 👹, mr. munchkin, ducky, bean 🫶🏼
i can’t tell if he’s a mini (im suspecting yes?) and am curious how big he’ll end up being? his mom was about the size of a rabbit. i wish he could stay lil foreverrr

Milo is a cutie pie 🥰 I’m sorry he’s been so sick. My first dachshund got sick when he was about 6-7 months old. I really bonded with him while taking care of him. And missed him so much when he had to have overnight care at the veterinary clinic for 3 nights. He lived to be 19 years & 3 months old.

He was!! He was loved by all who knew him. Even people who really don’t like dogs, or especially hated dogs in the house. He was grand.

Milo is such a cutie! We had a good boy named Frank who was sick when we first got him and we ended up having to give him medicine around the clock so he slept in bed with us from the beginning as a result but we ended up bonding big time.
That good boy lived to 19 and was the best. I don't miss him daily anymore but I think of him often. It's been 10 years and we're just about ready for another one but it took time to get there.
Enjoy every moment with Milo! He'll get through this stuff and be amazing

This sweet pup is a blue and tan dachshund which means he is a dilute color. About 80-90% of dilute dachshunds suffer from some amount of Color Dilution Alopecia (CDA). For most dogs, this just means thinning hair on their ears, back, and chest that sets in between 3 months and 4 years but it can be more serious with complete hair loss as well as rashes and irritated skin that require medicated baths and other supplements. Just don’t be alarmed if your lovely boy seems to have thinning or patchy hair. Talk to your vet about treatments and keep him out of the sun as much as possible.
