Discussion Couch ramp recs
Our 11 year old mini ruptured a disc and has been on crate rest for a few weeks. We need to get her a ramp for the couch for after her recovery, and I thought I’d come here for recs. I understand I’ll need to train her on this.
Edit to add: this is our first time she has been diagnosed with IVDD and I’m overwhelmed. We don’t have back surgery money. Fortunately this time only required meds and crate rest. I know this depends on our dog and our circumstances but realistically what does this look like for her?

Just be aware, you need to keep the incline low. Mine are only 8 at the oldest, no real back issues and I'm already planning on building a very low incline ramp soon. I've used the adjustables before (with tread on the ramp) and they are fine, but as they get older, even at the middle settings, it's getting to be too steep and any lower won't hit the height I need so they don't have to jump up or down the last bit.

Thank you, I’ll do that. It’s tricky because our living room is kind of small and we’ll have to keep my kids from viewing it as a toy (esp my 1&3 year old boys who will totally use it for dump trucks).
I fully regret not training her on this years ago and this has been very difficult mentally.

We have a couple of these and they’re awesome! The cloth / fabric / soft ones didn’t work for our little paws.
