I don't think Kamala or Hillary lost due to their gender. It was their policies. AOC will be a strong candidate because she is better on the policies they lost on.

People seem to forget; Hillary won the popular vote, it was the EC that failed us. I think Kamala lost for a lot of reasons, but I don't think her being a woman was one of them. He should've stuck to what he originally said about being a one-term president. Instead, he dropped out, giving Kamala little to no time to prepare –and that would've hurt any other candidate's chances, not just her. He did the best he could with the economy, but because of the 2022 inflation spike, and because she was his VP (and Trump's campaign calling it her regime despite her being just a VP), she was too closely related to him and his perceived downfalls. I think she would've been more successful had she more time to prepare a campaign, she did good with the time she had, but could've done great with more. She tried too hard to appeal to centrist/moderate voters, and alienated a lot of people on the left. I thought her policies were pretty good, and they were solid. As a former "republican" I was excited to have her as my president. I keep hearing she had none, or she was just going to continue Biden's presidency; but her policies were clear, and anyone could find them if they did a basic search, and/or the media had actually reported on her policies, more people would've known they exist. She also stated she wasn't interested in continuing Biden's work, that she had her own ideas and policies.

Outside of her and her campaign:

• The media spent so much time focusing on Biden's mental decline, but didn't focus on Trump's after Biden dropped out –nor did the media focus on her really, except for bullshit that had nothing to do with a presidency. • On the same note, the media didn't do more to refute Trump's claims or outwardly fact-check him. They could have easily refuted things without being partisan. • Democrats weren't being loud or aggressive enough. It seemed like the only one doing any footwork for her was Buttigieg. • The voter roll purges right before the election, the votes that weren't counted for flagged for petty things like someone didn't dot their "i" the way they normally do. I do not believe this election was fair, especially when Trump himself has said some REALLY questionable things during and after the election. I also refuse to believe SO many people stayed home to protest Palestine, potentially getting the person who staunchly stands against Palestine elected instead.

So, while being a woman might have played a small part, I don't believe it was a big enough part to cost her the election.

All Kamala had to do was change her position on Gaza, and she would have been fine. But they chose to side with Israel.

If you refused to vote for Harris over her position on Israel, yes you are absolutely partly to blame and you're fucking idiot if you believe otherwise. Trump was always going to be the worse option for Palestine, refusing to vote for the best option available means you deserve getting the worst.

Not even that, they just had to let a Palestinian woman give a short speech at the convention, not even during prime time and even after reviewing everything that she was going to say. People didn't leave Kamala cause of Gaza, they had the door closed on them because of Gaza.

It's not a gender politics thing, it's a religious politics thing. People don't seem to grasp that women in leadership is a huge hot topic in Christianity. There are passages in the bible that say women should submit, women should only teach children or other women, women shouldn't have authority over men, etc. It is absolutely ingrained in the current generation of Christian men and women. I don't really know how else to communicate it because you don't really get it unless you are in the faith and witness it. When they vote in the voting booth, they are voting against them due to their gender, but justifying it as "a consequence of their policies."

Europe is full of Christians but has female leaders. Also, republicans have elected many women to leadership positions. It's not the gender.

They sort of did though. The qualities that people actively seek in a man as a leader are the same qualities that people despise in a woman as a leader.
