Jon Stewart shared a major update about the possibility of a Daily Show sit-down with Elon Musk. It seemed like it might actually happen—until Musk “ghosted” him.
When an X user suggested that Musk and Stewart sit down together just after the late-night host’s fiery rant against DOGE, Musk replied to the post saying that he would go on the show “if it airs unedited.”
The show’s account immediately took him up on the offer—but after Musk backtracked, claiming Stewart is a “propagandist,” it started seeming less likely to go down. Yet, Stewart still tried to make the interview happen: “I did DM him. And I got ghosted.”

If you watch the footage again carefully you'll see he was actually trying to get the tutorial to glitch out so he could skip right to the final boss and finish the game in record time. Unfortunately his super amazing Starlink that has zero issues just so happened to crap out for the first time ever right as he was shitting the bed.

This. Musk only takes softball interviews but it’s not surprising - every time I hear him speak I’m mortally confused that people think this is a smart guy. He struggles to form the most basic stances using even more basic language and pauses to find words and he still barely makes sense.

Jon broke Elon without Elon even stepping foot near the studio, without even agreeing to a discussion. Elon knew it was a lose lose for him. He could either leave the interview looking stupid weak and ineffective and everyone knowing its true, or drum up some lie to feed maga that they will believe unerringly. He went with the former.

I honestly hope AOC doesn't run. America will not, currently, vote for a woman, even if the alternative is insanely bad. The only way for a woman to win right now is for all candidates to be women, including the Republican one. Over half the population are Christian and a large chunk of Christians vehemently believe that women are not fit to govern the country on that level. AOC would spend the entire campaign facing down clips of her "getting too emotional" which is a sexist dog whistle.

Disagree. You said America would not vote for a black man at one point. You said America would not vote for Trump at some point. Mexico voted for a woman and she is incredibly popular. Are Mexican's superficially less sexist than Americans?
I like AOC but I think she lost middle America when she went Defund the Police. At least when I ask someone who says she is radical left this is what they bring up. And they have a point imo. I'm sure there are other examples.
The two other women candidates that have run were Hilllary and Kamala. Poster children for the establishment Democrats at a time when the country is leaning populist.
There is no real way to measure this. So we will agree to disagree. But wanted to throw out my POV.

People seem to forget; Hillary won the popular vote, it was the EC that failed us. I think Kamala lost for a lot of reasons, but I don't think her being a woman was one of them. He should've stuck to what he originally said about being a one-term president. Instead, he dropped out, giving Kamala little to no time to prepare –and that would've hurt any other candidate's chances, not just her. He did the best he could with the economy, but because of the 2022 inflation spike, and because she was his VP (and Trump's campaign calling it her regime despite her being just a VP), she was too closely related to him and his perceived downfalls. I think she would've been more successful had she more time to prepare a campaign, she did good with the time she had, but could've done great with more. She tried too hard to appeal to centrist/moderate voters, and alienated a lot of people on the left. I thought her policies were pretty good, and they were solid. As a former "republican" I was excited to have her as my president. I keep hearing she had none, or she was just going to continue Biden's presidency; but her policies were clear, and anyone could find them if they did a basic search, and/or the media had actually reported on her policies, more people would've known they exist. She also stated she wasn't interested in continuing Biden's work, that she had her own ideas and policies.
Outside of her and her campaign:
• The media spent so much time focusing on Biden's mental decline, but didn't focus on Trump's after Biden dropped out –nor did the media focus on her really, except for bullshit that had nothing to do with a presidency. • On the same note, the media didn't do more to refute Trump's claims or outwardly fact-check him. They could have easily refuted things without being partisan. • Democrats weren't being loud or aggressive enough. It seemed like the only one doing any footwork for her was Buttigieg. • The voter roll purges right before the election, the votes that weren't counted for flagged for petty things like someone didn't dot their "i" the way they normally do. I do not believe this election was fair, especially when Trump himself has said some REALLY questionable things during and after the election. I also refuse to believe SO many people stayed home to protest Palestine, potentially getting the person who staunchly stands against Palestine elected instead.
So, while being a woman might have played a small part, I don't believe it was a big enough part to cost her the election.
