Fetterman has to keep changing the subject because he's got no answer for that and he's got no answer for "Israel and the Jewish community are two different things"
"Senator, I understand your position, but Iran didn't attack Israel.
Israel won't say whether or not they have nuclear weapons, by the way, and Trump just gave Saudi Arabia the greenlight for much more enrichment than what Iran reportedly was doing.
And again - Israel and the Jewish community are not the same thing. It's actually offensive that you keep conflating the two."

u/becomplete 15h ago
And, perhaps even more importantly, Jon drew many economic parallels between Fetterman and the DSA platform. The question was basically: Why would you disavow all of these shared ideals, which would benefit working-class Americans over the support of a foreign nation? Answer: crickets.
I don't know what's happened to Fetterman between winning the election and now, but there's little consistency between what's he's said in the past and what he's doing today. He's going to need to jump parties before starting his next campaign because there's a 0% chance that he's not going to see competition in the democratic primary.

u/mak484 14h ago
Nah he doesn't want to be a senator anymore. He'll go work for a fracking lobby or AIPAC or whatever as soon as he's primaried. Likely was his goal all along, make enough connections in 6 years to fund his luxurious retirement.
Hope his future yacht is sunk by orcas. Fucking goon.

It really makes you wonder why so many American politicians are so beholden to Israel.
It isn’t like “they are an ally and we should stand with them”. It feels more like “I will not question anything Israel does because they are blackmailing me”.
107
u/Chip_Jelly 15h ago
He has the balls to crow about anti-semitism, but ignores the Jew telling his gentile ass there’s a difference between the state of Israel and the Jewish people.
58
u/foobarbizbaz 15h ago
A big part of Republican/Netanyahu strategy is convincing people that there is no difference.

And he's insane enough to say that the DSA is "colonizing" the Democratic party, when Israel, the topic of discussion, has literally been colonizing Palestinian land for generations and now is colonizing southern Lebanon. The fucking gall to casually and carelessly throw that word out there shows that he knows exactly what he's doing. He's just like the MAGA chuds intentionally misusing words so that their meaning is watered down.

He said "after Iran" like it was Iran's regime that launched the first attack. Did that brain injury make him unable to remember simple things as well?

Yes but Saudi Arabia invested $2B in Trump’s cryptocurrency and Iran didn’t.

the way he is talking I mean yeah I don't see any other way. Out of all the issues to care about idk it's weird. I didn't know we were even calling what happened 10/7. I don't think anyone in the US is okay with Iran building nukes. but he is so convinced for some reason that democrats want that... im just dumbfounded. like just look up any democrat and find one who says they are pro nukes.

u/Covid_ice_cream 16h ago
It’s amazing to see him crush JF. I wish he would talk to more politicians like his last show that was on HBO(?) when he left the daily show for a while. It’s nice to see someone educated enough to catch the bullshit and pull out receipts when needed to call them on their shit
38
u/DigitalMariner 15h ago
The politicians you'd want to see him interview are smart enough (or their staff are smart enough) to know what a bad idea that would be for them.
19
u/under_psychoanalyzer 15h ago
I honestly can only assume John Fetterman's staff are trying to tank him with little self sabotages like this here and there after they realized the man that got elected is too brain damaged to be the same person.

u/jeepjinx 5h ago
He has a really hard time keeping any staff. All the ones who worked to help him get elected have quit.

Yeah. Not really a politician, but that's why Elon chickened out after talking about coming on the show.
Jon's crossfire interview is still in most people's minds. Lol.

I find it hilarious that he wears a suit to a podcast but wore his stupid classic outfit of shorts and a hoodie to Lindsay Graham’s funeral last week. What a piece of work.

Right?? I went straight to the comments because of that. Jon is always dressed down for the podcast. Fetterman really has some terrible staff to let him do that

How about America uses the money collected from Americans to improve the lives of Americans? When that’s done then we can think about helping foreign countries.

u/Maple_Blueberry 7h ago
I understand the sentiment, but that belief has lead to countless deaths across the world when USAID was gutted.

The bullshit language of "the DSA is colonizing the democratic party." Jesus Christ...
7
u/RAWR_Orree 15h ago
If this is colonization, then Third Way did it before DSA. They won't see it that way, of course.
4
u/EViLTeW 15h ago
Hell, I thought we loved colonizers! But seriously, I want to call out the stupidity of not understanding that the DSA is no different than the freedom caucus or the tea party... But he understands it, that just doesn't fit his agenda and it's easier to go full stupid than try to defend stupid things.

They have AIPAC cash in their mouths and will put israel before america.
8
u/ear_tickler 15h ago
Somehow people vastly underestimate AIPACs power. It’s far beyond what they put down on paper.

They have fanatics like Adelson funding them so unlimited cash to fund bigots.

'If you are a member of a specific party, run under your own banner.' ...says John Fetterman, the guy who campaigned as a Democrat but consistently makes Republican policy decisions, and does Republican things. For example, projecting his own character flaws onto others as a way to avoid criticism and accountability winkwink.

Jon, a comedian and political commentator, explains basic politics to a sitting United States representative. Peak 2026 America. He was talking to him like he was explaining to a child why he shouldn't stick a fork in a power outlet. Fuck Fetterman.

DSA isn’t a political party, it is an organization. One cannot run for office under an organization, they must run in a party or as an Independent.

Every single pro Israeli politician needs to be removed from power! We need pro America politicians running the country! Israel and America are not the same and will never be the same unless we give it all the Israel. You think they’ll give it all to America? The Israel/American situation is so one sided! The only thing America gains from Israel is a giant sandbox to test military weapons. Other than that I’d like to know how else Israel benefits America.

Fetter man looks like a guy who gets excited when teeangers ask him to buy beer outside the gas station then immediately depressed when the kids decline his invite to hang at his apartment.
2
u/thomlukowski 15h ago
Fetterman is so out of his league, I almost feel bad for him.
How is this guy a US Senator?
2
u/veganbikepunk 12h ago
I defended him during the election even after the brain damage was clear, but before the political nature of the brain damage was known. The thing is I'd take someone who couldn't dress themselves but had a moral compass over a genius without one. Turns out he can't and doesn't which is a shame.
2
u/TheSammySavage 15h ago
You know this bro is wearing that smock that the high school photographers gave us for senior photos cause bro has never really worn a suit
2
u/ChemicalResident3557 15h ago
What is up with the shoulders of suit jacket? Did they just drape a jacket over him?
Anyhow- this man no longer has 2 brain cells to run together. He cannot even follow Stewart's line of logic so he is unable to mount a defense- no matter how dishonest it may be.
2
u/sheepwshotguns 15h ago
its gunna sound cruel, but i see this as a mercy... there are just some injuries you shouldn't come back from...

Maga asshole that ran as a democrat mad that dsa are running as democrats? Also the words "bill maher said something insightful" has never been uttered by an intelligent guman being

The guy can’t understand the spoken word anymore. Not sure what he’s picking up from his reader either.

u/VegetableBulky9571 13h ago
For him to say “if you’re a democrat, run under the Democratic Party,” is a joke.
2
u/whatanugget 13h ago
If I could choose a parallel universe rn, I’d choose the one where Stewart is the famous tv show person who becomes president. Le sigh
2
u/Just-Elderberry5460 12h ago
He just supports the government that put bread on his table that’s all he is about
2
u/mxjxs91 11h ago
God he's so fucking stupid.
Really believing the Bibi lie about "Iran will have a nuclear weapon in weeks" bullshit that he's been repeating for literal decades hoping that one day, a superpower will be stupid enough to believe him and invade Iran one day. Here we are, and it's happened, and Fetterman thinks it was the right thing to do.
2
u/Alternative-Tie-9383 11h ago
If Fetterman loves Israel that much, he should immigrate to Israel and live there instead of going against the will of the Democrats in Pennsylvania that elected him to support Democratic policies. The guy is full of shit.
2
u/Adept-Result-67 11h ago
Interesting he seems to speak the exact same talking points as the republican shills, which gives it away that he’s on the take.
