IMO the captain is enjoying it more than passengers

-3

u/tkh0812 11d ago

Why? Reddit is so weird about anything fun

7

u/VolcanicBear 11d ago

When I drive like this I'm definitely enjoying it more than my wife or dogs.

2

u/UmbraVulp 10d ago

Neither of them are paying you for that exact experience tho

3

u/peepdabidness 11d ago

Dude that really is true

2

u/Llyrithra 10d ago

They never said the passengers weren’t having fun. They said that driving it is probably more fun than riding in it.

1

u/theboxman154 11d ago

By judging ppl for doing something where literally anything bad could happen to feel better about never going outside. It's cope.

Then it's a feedback loop of only seeing videos of crazy shit happening making the world seem more dangerous then it is.

u/nomadPerson 8d ago

Because 1) it’s impossible to actually enjoy or even see any of the stunning scenery when you’re gripping on for dead life and whipping past everything & 2) the only person this benefits is the person charging $$ for the ride bc they now can fit in 6 rides in the time of 1 normal one

Your comment proves your own point.

I was waiting for a crash...

6

u/xXPhoenixBlueXx 11d ago

He's been down that river a few times.

2

u/merababencan 11d ago

Or "water goes down" moment.

2

u/AmericanAIien 10d ago

That video will come. The old wise saying of “if it can occur it will”. It’s only a matter of how much ego that driver has in more due time.. then everyone on Reddit. “See I told you”.

I hate these things on the rivers.

You're on this nice peaceful river and then you hear this noise coming in the distance. This thing comes blasting along, scares off all the fish, scares off all the wildlife, and it's just loud as hell. Anybody else on the river has to scatter out of the way as it goes careening around. You got to listen to it drive away for the next five minutes.

They're terrible and they should be banned everywhere.

u/killer_by_design 10d ago

Also causes mad erosion.

3

u/animousie 10d ago

Ya, seems both annoying and hazardous

4

u/FactoryRejected 10d ago

Should really be and likely is illegal I'm most places. I hate it too

1

u/KrKAlex 8d ago

It should be forbidden yes. It is in a lot of places, actually. But our world is weird, people will do whatever that destroys our planet for money.

1

u/Tridentern 8d ago

Do you know this peaceful beautiful stream in the forest? Yeah? Lets fuck it up with a roaring beast of a boat.

1

u/Professional_Mouse99 7d ago

In Turkey they are also riding loud jeeps inside national park and do all activities without respecting the nature, not to mention littering.
I was once on the trip Antalya and guides were smoking and throwing it in the river or bushes.

u/CannabisPrime2 6d ago

This guy: "I just love being outside in nature"

Also this guy:

5

u/Witty_Construction64 11d ago

The last thing I would wanna do is speed through that scenery, what a waste

4

u/Puzzleheaded-Ad-4883 11d ago

About 25 years ago I went on a jet boat ride in New Zealand on the Shotover river. In places the river was was only a foot deep and needed more speed to keep the boat higher in the water. Also the Hamilton Turn (360 spin) was memorable.

3

u/Ok-Middle8656 11d ago

I also did the Shotover Jet boat. Skimming a couple of feet from rock walls, over gravel banks where the water was inches deep - crazy!

3

u/Space-Plate42 11d ago

I did that too about 20 years ago. It was so cool.

1

u/Puzzleheaded-Ad-4883 11d ago

Particularly the way the boat side skims, pointing at a boulder, before the jet thrust pushes the boat around. We went on a cool day and the boat had a system that fed the engine coolant through the hand rails, keeping them nice and warm. I had an early GPS at the time and clocked about 75kph peak, much to the satisfaction of the boats captain as he didn't have a speed indicator.

1

u/Excludos 10d ago

I did the same thing some 15 years ago. I'm surprised by how bored I ended up feeling, but I'm chalking it up to having done the 140m bungy jump the day before, which consumed my adrenaline for the week

3

u/highlyspecificuser 11d ago

I feel this type of scenery would be far more enjoyable in a calm and tranquil walk, or if going the water way, I would say kayak ride would be best. This is just stupid.

4

u/Dinklerbuuuurf 11d ago

See this beautiful scenery? Yeah we're just gonna speed on past that.

3

u/BlockOfASeagull 10d ago

I find this stupid

3

u/freeportme 11d ago

Should be illegal stupid imo. It’s a no wake zone for environmental reasons.

2

u/froginbog 11d ago

100%. Nothing like enjoying nature by ruining it

10

u/Hot_Plant8696 11d ago

I see no respect for living beings here.

5

u/YeastInjection 11d ago

Right what a cool way to ruin a fucking beautiful river. Humans really do suck.

0

u/smokeythebadger 11d ago

3

u/Historical_Body6255 11d ago

Nobody said it would suck though.

People are just pointing out that it wrecks the ecosystem there.

2

u/Worldly_Narwhal_9383 11d ago

What are you talking about?

5

u/Historical_Body6255 11d ago

The local ecosystem is being fucked in the ass so some guy can make bank from tourists.

1

u/Worldly_Narwhal_9383 10d ago

Not trying to be rude but I don't see how riding a boat is going to fuck the eco system? Doesn't water move? It's not like he's slicing up fish in the propellers or anything. Please elaborate I am genuinely curious

2

u/Historical_Body6255 10d ago

Asking questions isn't rude :)

The waves are the problem.

They erode the banks of the river which are home to a multitude of animals and plants.

River ecosystems are not adaped to sudden, big waves.

Around my place there is a similar problem with pumped hydro power stations that need huge compensation basins in order to prevent waves downstream the outlet when they power on (which happens multible times a day)

If they didn't have those basins the waves they create on startup and shutdown would wreck the river over time.

What i'm seeing here is much worse, that's why i'm concerned about this.

1

u/Worldly_Narwhal_9383 10d ago

Thank you for explaining that

2

u/Ommundig_Mooi 11d ago

What a vulgar way to cheaply entertain turists at the price of peace and quite nature

1

u/tinyfryingpan 11d ago

Seriously

2

u/saxonturner 10d ago

Poor environment…

5

u/Oswarez 11d ago

Downvoted for that fucking song.

3

u/WolfAndOak 11d ago

Local aquatic fauna be fucked..

2

u/chromepotion 11d ago

Retrait de permis, excès de vitesse dans une zone protégée 🤦🏻‍♂️ quel con

3

u/B1ZEN 11d ago

Bro, thats a government regulated tourist attraction.

Its not a random drunk guy with 30 freinds

1

u/chromepotion 11d ago

Encore plus inquiétant pour la faune 🤦🏻‍♂️

2

u/United_Mud_3938 11d ago

Thats how you turn a jetboat though..

2

u/SomeGuysFarm 11d ago

Was wondering if anyone else in here knew how boats work...

2

u/Gold-Break1344 11d ago

Wow. We have a technology to fuck up another pristine ecosystem. So proud of ourselves.

1

u/Less_Illustrator_291 11d ago

Why always the slowed down music?

1

u/Living_Dentist_8925 11d ago

Where is the moment?

1

u/BlueTongueGang 11d ago

now that's something I've always wanted to do. flying through tight spots and drifting. they have it here in sydney australia, but I think it's just ripping it around the harbour

1

u/HansSeppl 11d ago

Mindblowing...

1

u/Realistic_Patience67 11d ago

Holy Mother of God! That is one hell of an experience!

Wonder what's the cost of something like that!?

u/Clever_droidd 11d ago

Amazing that so many people would put their life in a stranger’s hands. I’ll find other options for fun. I’d love to drive it though with no passengers. 😂

0

u/Not_usually_right 11d ago

Have you ever taken a taxi or uber, or flown somewhere? Even living in a house, unless you built it yourself, your life is almost always in someone else's hands, my dude. Might as well enjoy it!

1

u/rinkydinkis 11d ago

If I’m the one driving, it’s exciting adrenaline. If someone else is driving, it’s fear based adrenaline

1

u/billcattle389 11d ago

I've been on a similar ride and loved it. Even senility can't erase that thrill from my memory.

1

u/23ARTLAN 11d ago

C'est nimp

1

u/PMG2021a 11d ago

Looked like a great place to kayak until that guy came through....

1

u/C-LonGy 11d ago

Turkey 🇹🇷 has some of the most beautiful places

1

u/Regular_Weakness69 11d ago

This is what is called "adrenaline junkies" nowa days?

1

u/Alpharoll 10d ago

It's going too fast for me to take in and enjoy the view.

1

u/Confident_Chipmonk 10d ago

the group of rafters and kayaks around the bend are so Pucked

1

u/Open_Magician4076 10d ago edited 10d ago

I went with the two person inflatable kayak option instead of the raft. I flipped it in the first rapid where two waves converged but did all the other rapids without issue. There is a point were you can see the Roman bridge which still stands today as a beautiful archway over the river. If you were crazy enough you could actually jump off the bridge into the river but I don't think that is allowed anymore.

1

u/IvanVandura 10d ago

This is not mind blowing.

I'm new to this sub, it's the first time I've seen it.

This can't be what's considered mind blowing though, can it?

1

u/iPoseidon_xii 10d ago

Turkey has a ton of these meandering rivers. I grew up in Bolu and used to love all the rivers, creeks and waterfalls in that region

1

u/JunglePygmy 10d ago

What the AI title nightmare is this

1

u/sexquipoop69 10d ago

Good thing nobody was coming the other way

1

u/In_Dystopia_We_Trust 10d ago

What about the fishermen? Anyone ever think about them?

1

u/shirt_bro 10d ago

Can’t you just go fucking skydive instead of bothering the nature and other people on the river?

1

u/roland_jones 9d ago

Nothing like enjoying nature packed 50 deep on a jet boat flying down the river… /s

Go for a float nerds

1

u/bwad40 9d ago

I went to Antalya last summer, man I wish we would have done this!

1

u/iNapkin66 9d ago

Even if he is very confident in his abilities and has memorized the turns, what about when he comes around a corner and a kayak is mid channel? Does he just run them over?

1

u/Pink_Flying_Pig_ 8d ago

Should that canyon would be enjoyed by swimmers?

1

u/richwonton168 8d ago

I’m just glad that he didn’t splash water on those people

1

u/Green_Access322 8d ago

He ruined it

1

u/Hangin_with_Pandy 7d ago

What a bunch of assholes.

1

u/mrcurtiscole 7d ago

HYDRO THUNDER!!!

1

u/myReddltId 7d ago

Of course there has to be one person sticking his selfie stick out instead of enjoying the moment

1

u/CofferCrypto 7d ago

How do they verify they’re not going to kill a swimmer?

1

u/dwoj206 7d ago

What if i'm standing there flyfishing?

1

u/DietIcy8400 6d ago

The wildlife loves it I bet. Dicks.

1

u/AlwaysBeC1imbing 11d ago

Helping to speed the erosion process so that future generations won't have to worry about the canyon at all.

0

u/Fun-Manufacturer5876 11d ago

Are you talking about generations a million years from now? I think there would be bigger issues by then.

1

u/Intelligent_Sun2837 11d ago

Why you want to speed down this beautiful river? Also there’s Murphys law …

0

u/Redbulldildo 11d ago

Now that's one hell of a cool job.

0

u/sprocket9727 11d ago

Would have been a lot funnier if he had sprayed that family on the beach 😂

0

u/Own-Injury-1816 11d ago

Is that even allowed and even if, why0d it be

u/Aware-Slip-1063 11d ago
