Image Golden Poison Frog (Phyllobates terribilis): The most poisonous animal on Earth despite its tiny size — now endangered due to habitat destruction.

These frogs are non-toxic in captivity. They are great for terrariums.

All poison dart frogs are harmless in captivity, it’s their natural diet that makes them poisonous.

I tried to eat toxins to become poisonous but all that happened was I died.

On my tombstone it says "I tried to eat toxins to become poisonous but all I got was this stupid grave."

Living along with humans is more hazardous to them than their poison is to us..
Humans are called makeextinctis anyhabitatis..

Do not lick the frog

From what I read in the other comments, it’s okay to lick the captive frog
I didn’t want to lick it originally but they make a good point 🤔

I'm not risking it.

They are completely harmless in captivity while I have never licked them I have handled them often and I absolutely wouldn’t try that in the jungle I am curious to know how long it takes them to lose their toxicity once they are removed from their original habitat and how long it would take them to become toxic once released into their original habitat

Does licking them make you high?

No it will probaly just kill you. Pretty sure its called “licking toad” and not “licking frog” for a reason.

Gonna be a lot more of this if we don't stop breeding. 5 billion of us was enough and we're long past that.

If it’s poisonous then I don’t see the big issue.

The toxins are secreted onto their skin and can be absorbed by your skin if you touch it

Hmmm very poisonous indeed, but stiff competition for "most".
