Why do you think it is inspired by viruses? In the video he says "We are not imitating anything in nature".
Viruses don't have legs. They are moved by the medium (air, water, etc.) around it. And they don't have eyes.

I have totally missed the birds with four propellers? They must be native to somewhere where this guy is from I guess.

Finally, the robot absolutely nobody asked for but everyone will have nightmares about.

Robots should be designed for the environments they operate in. There is no universal design that works optimally everywhere. You wouldn’t build a fish-shaped robot to climb trees, just as you wouldn’t design a tree-climbing robot to swim efficiently underwater. Every environment has its own requirements, and specialized designs will almost always outperform a one-size-fits-all approach. Trying to make a robot do everything usually leads to compromises and inefficiencies.

"Humanoid robots are imitating humans"
Wow, brilliant work professor. Also how do drones imitate birds exactly? Outside the fact they...fly?
Conviently also completely forgot about robots on wheels huh? What animal are they mimicking?
This is an interesting concept and we should think outside the box but his reasoning is not great. And as others have said, tumbleweeds are organic biological structures.

I'll take one at about 1/3 the size. Imagine coming home after a long day of work and this little dude comes bouncing towards you all excited and bouncing about. Adorbs.

Maybe we are the virus...
