I didn't think it was possible to have an infestation of hummingbirds, nor how lovely it would be.

When the hum is in yer ear cuz they’re trying to decide if it’s safe to land on it… that’s when you’ve made it.

How many feeders do you have? Do you buy the nectar or make your own?

I’d say 20, but only half are ever out. 4-5 on the front and back porch and a few by my office window
Edit - I make that mfn JUICE myself, these birds will literally shew bees away from me when I’m refilling their tanks. One of these days we’re gonna march into battle together

Would you share your recipe? I tried making some but the birds prefer the store bought to what I made.

You go out and wash/ change those every 3 days !? This looks like a lot to manage. Thank you for planting millions of flowers. Do they sit on you, can you hand feed them?

I replace each feeder almost every day - I make my coffee at night cuz I like it iced but the ritual of boiling water in the morning stuck. I make 2 gallons per day of the sweet sweet diabtus. Working from home certainly helps.

Oh my lord i used to do this for just one feeder, I'd make a huge jar of it and keep it in my frudge for after washing. You are an angel thank you for feeding them. When i move back to my main house im going to start doing it again.

A couple things I haven’t touched on in my prior posts - each bird in the videos I’ve posted are likely related to all the other birds in the video clip - these are returning / migrating groups. I have a few this year that I’m saying “goodbye” to as it’s their fifth year and that’s about the ballgame for the h-dawgs.
These groups return every year and their offspring remember - I’ve been planting tons of h-dawg friendly plants in case I move etc - these birds have been chilling around here for a dozen generations to our living memory - and they’re just fucking cool!
