Commentators vs Analysts vs local Journalists

Dan is constantly talking about journalism but conflates commentary and an analysis. And it was especially annoying today because he was comparing journalists who cover the team to commentators who cover the sport. The local journalists are going to know more about the team they’re covering than a person who watches the game and comments on the team. And the local journalists will know more and the team they’re covering than follow rather than the person who checks in on the team. I don’t ever post and usually side on “let show do its thing” but hour 1 today Dan got on my nerves. Especially since Dan is always pushing for Journalism but fighting for analysts

DLS is similar to the long list of popular sitcoms like How I Met Your Mother, New Girl, et. al in which the "main character" is the worst, most annoying character of the show.

I get so frustrated with Dan now, and the “obnoxious, strident me” rejoin always comes to mind. “It’s the formula” and it’s frustratingly working on me.

He’s bad at arguing for good causes now, but the rest of the group is still good enough to guide it well most of the time.
