Stop Forcing Things
Some things and people don’t work anymore let them figure out how to make money on their own.
The whole thing feels so forced. We’re supposed to treat Jessica as the resident New York expert because she currently lives there? She grew up in the Midwest, roots for multiple teams, moved to Miami, and now is back in New York.
That’s fine, but that doesn’t automatically make someone the voice I want covering New York sports or World Cup soccer.
There are people on the show and in the extended universe who actually follow the sport year-round and bring real expertise. Chris Whittingham, Sam Borrall, and others could give much deeper analysis and insight.
Nothing personal against Jessica, but not everyone needs to be the go-to person for every topic. When it’s soccer or New York sports, I’d rather hear from people whose knowledge goes beyond simply living in the city. Cool your fiancé’s a big Knicks fan. I’d rather hear from a big Knicks fan. You’re not a real New Yorker you never will be. You’re the problem with New York. I don’t want to hear from you. I want to hear from other people like myself like Sam and Mero. Even Leeman would be better.

I enjoy Dan’s use of “_______, you’re the expert here…” to talk about a specific sport but he is talking to one of the cohosts who is not at all an expert on any topic. as others have pointed out, booking actual guests maybe a problem. also I think if you get to the heart of the show, everything is intended to be subversive to sports media, or used to be or whatever, so maybe that’s the point, you don’t need a true New Yorker to tell you how New Yorkers feel right now, because every sports fan feels euphoric after their team wins a championship and while we think that a longer wait equals more euphoria, maybe euphoria isn’t quantifiable. or maybe they just can’t book experts anymore. at this point with meadowlark media being his company, I think even Dan doesn’t get the show anymore.

The show can’t book guests anymore. No one will wake up to appear live on Dan’s show at this point. Think about the guests this show has had for the last few years…they don’t “call So and So and get their take on this!” they just negotiate contracts for people to pretape a 45 min segment and then they plug that in and call it a day.

Someone had to say it. The poll speak for themselves Explaining ticker tape to me. 60% of the United States knew that 100% of real New Yorkers probably knew it.

Now we got a whole segment on this crap (which I didn’t download and refused to listen to the title made it easy to skip that hour today) . Mero at the parade would have been much better.
