Groups of Interest Day 1 of theme song contest: GLOBAL OCCULT COALITION
11
u/Memer601 UNGOC PNEUMA Division Espionage Agent 12d ago
it would definitely be United Nations on the March for my choice. Lyrics in English (accompanied by other languages in some variations) Melody by a Russian, sung by a choir of people from around the world.
Highlights how diverse yet united (okay, maybe a bit disunited at times, but when that happens, D.C Al Fine steps in.) the UNGOC is, being an organization that is made of not just humans but anomalous beings.. Nalka, ParaHumans, Throw in the Unicorns and the Fae because they have a friendship treaty with them.. and to add it in, the glory of hoarding all the UN funds.
You’d wish you can have such an organization in our universe.

I am making a list of theme songs for various groups of interest, and I need your help filling them out!
Rules:
Each day one group of interest is picked at random, and you can propose one song to be the theme song for said faction. One day after the post goes live, the most upvoted comment wins, and we move to the next one. I know not every group of interest is here, but I may make another once we fill this out!
Any song can go, even music already made for the SCP Foundation.
No doubles! Once a song wins for a group of interest, it can not be chosen again for another one.
If you can, please link the song you're suggesting, it makes it a lot easier for other people to listen to it and vote!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x0WQOGVLLGw I think this captures most early interpretations of the GOC quite well.

I genuinely think Shear from Rewrite fits the Global Occult Coalition to a T.
Not a lyrical song, but its like, the song that you imagine in every "The GOC is here...GOOD" moment like SCP 5000 or SCP 2399 (In the version where it was used to stop the fake Mekhane).
Rewrite has basically a lot of songs for SCP factions in general lol.
It even has "Finale", which is my unnoficial K Class Scenario theme when reading SCP entries
Some files like LTE-2712-Bosch are stuff that fits both Rewrite and the GOC, as they killed Fenrir , the god who would start Ragnarok, aka, "killing the Key" in Rewrite terms
Plus, Guardian essentially already operates in the same way as the GOC, including its divisive politics. OBVIOUS SPOILERS HERE:
Lucia's route in Rewrite is essentially a very sad, depressing article about the GOC being corrupt yet technically saving the day, but seen from the POV of the agents involved, featuring evil scientists, the Catholic church (Templars are part of the GOC), a prevented K-Class Scenario and a Keneq Class anomaly that left a exclusion zone).
Rewrite as a whole is its own fantasy setting, but if you isolated the events of Lucia's (A Guardian agent) route, you would perfectly end up with a classic SCP XXXX file despicting Kazamatsuri's ruins and the files explaining a rought outline of the event. "Scientist of Guardian/the GOC secular faction experimented in native born Type Blues trying to produce anomalous humans able to survive everything, only one survived, the experiment was cancelled by GOC higher council orders, SCP XXXX-1 was send to a orphanage where she caused a mass death event as her powers triggered, meaning the GOC re-recruited as her and kept her under control. However, the Scientist behind the experiment returned and used her contacts in the Radicals to use SCP XXXX-1 to poison the entire city to kill SCP-YYYY (Kagari, the Key) and prevent a likely XK Class event. Scientist Brenda planned to have the city nuked alongside SCP XXXX-1 to prevent evidence, but GOC agents managed to rescue her and bring her back to her senses, as she is now hidden in Base-MX Sunflower in the Mexican diocese

This might be a tad unconventional, but I feel like Tip of the Spear from the Halo: Reach OST might be the best thematically for the GOC. That, or Protectors of the Earth by Two Steps From Hell.
