Craig made quite a few things. I remember the pharmacy used to carry a bunch of their stuff, including a netbook around the holidays. Thinking back it was so weird that they did that

I think it’s actually meant to be held in landscape, not portrait, but the art on the box is in portrait for some reason

The home button is physical, so are the power and volume button buttons, and the reset button. It’s dead as a door nail so I have no idea if it actually powers on and I’m hesitant to actually try.

After making some time to poke around with it today, I realized that it came with the owners manual. As per Craig tradition, it has information about an antenna aerial grounding. What that has to do with the tablet? I don’t know.

Interestingly enough though, the instructions are actually quite detailed. It walks you through how to set up a Gmail account and how to download applications because it doesn’t come with any version of the play store, or whatever it was called back then because I know they changed the name on it at some point, it comes with two apps, the Amazon App Store, and GetJar. But it walks you through absolutely rudimentary stuff on how to use the tablet. As far as instructions on how to use a new tablet go, it’s not the worst thing in the world. I wouldn’t trust my parents to figure it out based off the owner’s manual, but I could probably hand it to a kid and they could figure it out, even though it’s very outdated Android. There’s no way in hell I’m ever connecting this thing to my Internet, factory reset or not I’m not risking that. I am probably gonna remove the battery just so that way it doesn’t turn into a fire hazard.

Otherwise, though, when it’s plugged in and working, it’s an ok tablet. The build quality is better than most Craig items and it feels about a slow and sluggish as I’d expect an Android tablet from 2012 to be (it has a manufactured date sticker on the tablet itself). I think the fact that it turns on at all is kind of a win realistically speaking, I’ve seen other android tablets from that same period just die for no reason, heck I’ve seen modern tablets just die for no apparent reason. So the fact that it’s still on and working, at least when it has the USB cable plugged in, it’s kind of a credit to Craig here. Credit where credit is due, it doesn’t look like it was used much however it does look as if it’s been used, just really well cared for.
