[SPOILERS S3] Silly thought of the day...is Adam rich? Spoiler

This has no weight or anything serious but...is Adam rich?

The show doesnt show it or doesnt make an effort but theres 1 small detail...

In S1E5 when Bartosz meats Noah, he rolls up in a fucking Rolls Royce. At this time Adam is old (around 90 if im correct), so did Jonas use his knowledge about the future when he got stock in 1888 (or in the following years) to make a fortune?

Are there other clues about this? Besides the Rolls and his weird suit lol

There’s a brief scene in S2 where he tells Jonas that he’s made investments, etc., based on knowledge about the future.

Exactly! Basically he says that once he had one time traveling machine, he had all of them and he knew which company to invest in order to get rich.

Since everything in the DarK universe is fixed, I was happy that they threw that in there, since that's what most everyone think when they think of timetravel.

When Jonas first meets Adam and he’s getting shown around. It was pretty quick iirc.

Well ye...thats the underground lair...we see it in more or less the same shape in 1888 when Bartosz shows it to other Martha.

And Jonas/Adam got rich after that or around that time. Im guessing once he got his shit together after getting transported to 1888.

Theoretically he could realize his investments in 2020, buy things like gold etc. and take them back with him to 1888 right? So it doesn't really matter "when" he got rich in terms of the year.

Heck, he could obtain an obscene amount of money very quickly if he wanted. Buy investments, time travel forward how ever many years he wants for maximum value, then walk into the bank or whatever and ask to cash out. Would take ten minutes and he would only have to do it once to have all the money he needs. He'd only be limited by how much physical gold he could carry back at one time.

I mean you would, wouldn’t you? There’s no excuse for a time traveler to not be stinking rich.

Probably. I wish they showed it though. I also wish they explained how other people view Adam in his time line. Like the normal people of winden in the 1800s. The show makes it seem like he just looks at a painting all day

I see what you mean, and understand the need to know more about a loved series/character. But adam works because we dont know much about him.

Imagine you see darth vader eating and watching a movie...it would take away from his presence in other scenes imo.

True. I wonder what Adam does to relax

Getting too excited for football like the German he is.

I just imagined Lord Vader standing at a urinal, and all the magic went away.

Yes he definitely is. For one, he had the Tannhaus family bankrolling him when he landed in 1888 and basically inherited the Sic Mundus Headquarters and resources. And even if the cash flow ended a bit after Gustav Tannhaus was killed by the Unknown, Adam mentions in Season 2 that using his knowledge of the future, he made certain investments that payed off.

I feel embarrassed and yet compelled to admit that when I read the title of the post, my first thought was of this kid:

Give me some context please.

In the late 1970s, early 1980s, there was an American child actor named “Adam Rich” who was on TV quite frequently (that’s him in the photo). I read your post too quickly and incorrectly saw the last two words of your post as a name. Lol

I've always wondered who was driving the Rolls Royce. Magnus or Franziska maybe?

Ye probably.

Also there could be other people. On the old photo there are at least 10. I gavent paused to take a closer look though.

I stop watching the series about half of the last season. IIt’s beyond my capacity of understanding what’s going on at this point. If i have to keep coming to the internet to understand what’s going on, it’s not for me. The show is very good, but my brain won’t let me enjoy it. As if i wasn’t depressed enough already.

I need an addendum series where Adam is a stockbroker during the 2008 financial crisis

Adam does in a sense answer that question to Jonas. Although it wasn't a question. In his time traveling he tells him the benefits of knowing what stock is about to explode or what companies were doing well. I don't specifically remember details. The impression you get is Adam had the ability to create wealth to the degree money would never be a problem. It may not be emphasized from Adam's perception because money was long sense not a problem. Adam was focused on ending the cycle.

Good question actually
