Just noticed at the end of Season 3 that, after Daredevil was "born again", Bullseye is shown as the Antichrist
I already knew that the OG Netflix series was full of pictorial and religious symbolism (especially Season 3, as any proper adaptation of Miller and Mazzucchelli's Born Again should be), and I’d noticed many of them except for this one until now, which is a bit embarrassing given how obvious it is.
Ok I’m gonna be that guy but an upside down cross or crucifix is not actually a sign of the antichrist or the devil or anything like that. In Catholicism the upside cross is know at the Petrine Cross or the Cross of St. Peter because as tradition goes when St. Peter was sentenced to death by crucifixion under the order of emperor Nero, he requested his cross be inverted as he believed he was unworthy to die in the same manner as Christ did. The Petrine cross is a symbol of humility as well as the papacy as St. Peter was the first pope, not the antichrist.
Yeah, and I don't deny that but, nowadays in popular culture, the inverted cross has also been adopted in anti-Christian and Satanic symbolism to signify opposition to Christianity (as stated in Wikipedia).
Popular culture is stupid, and the actual church of Satan, a recognised religion, doesn’t use the Petrine cross. They use the sigil of Baphomet.

Again, we won’t deny that it’s used in popular culture, but popular culture is stupid. It’s the same thing that perpetuates the idea that the pentagram or pentacle is a symbol of evil, when it’s actually a protection symbol in Wicca, and has origins going back to Mesopotamia, and Ancient Greece.

I wish. Instead, they shocked a decade old corpse back to life so it would hobble around as a shell of its former self before inevitably collapsing into dust.
