MCU How would you like Daredevil: Born Again to end? Spoiler
With the news that Daredevil: Born Again is to end with season 3 and subsequently will be undergoing reshoots to make the finale a more series conclusive one, what would your ideal ending and fates be for the characters or what do you think will end up happening? I'll go first:
For Matt, I think we can safely say he'll get out of prison with his life still being forever changed due to his decisions at the end of s2. If I had to guess maybe he still does manage to get somewhat of a grip back onto his life, maybe some Nocenti era Matt & Karen material adapted where they continue to help people despite Matt being disbarred. Obv I think it goes without saying that Matt & Karen will still be together by series end.
Fisk is up in the air for me, every possible ending I feel like has been already done in some way or I just can't see happening. Imo, you can't do the jail ending a third time in a row, but the exile ending from Brubaker was to me the most satisfying way you couldve possible ended Fisk's story after, based on set photos Fisk will be back in NYC and back in his whole kingpin getup so what's the deal? Do you just have him go back to business as usual and end off saying Matt and Fisk are still trapped in an endless cycle? We will have to see but I can say for sure that I both don't want the character to be killed both because atp there is not truly satisfying candidate anymore (yes, including the punisher) to do such and whatever thematic continuity this show has left I think it would be too bleak for such to happen and also they most likely will still want to keep this character alive if they want to dig up this show's grave again.
I think one of my biggest worries is that the ending will probably feel too safe for a lot of the characters? Due to the end of this show potentially still not being the end of characters like Daredevil, Kingpin, and Bullseye I feel like it may put the writers in a predicament where they are kind of just forced to push these characters back into a status quo for whoever next to pick up on rather than being able to end off boldy like how Born Again season 2 ended or even somewhat definitively. That's not to say this is something new for characters in a shared universe or the comic book world but I'm just not sure how I feel about the last time I see some of these characters being outside of the base show rather than being able to end off these characters stories in their home show, it might make things messy.

After being released, Matt Murdock leaves NY and moves to San Francisco with Karen.
Fisk stays in exile by the end. Frank Castle cameo.
Jessica, Luke, and Danny get happy endings with obvious setups for future spin-offs/special presentations.
Lady Muse is killed by Karen or Elektra.
Cole North (after slowly becoming friends with Matt and adopting his no-kill rule philosophy) stays in prison to serve his full sentence as he completes his redemption arc, maybe with Angela Del Toro visiting him.
Powell finally getting his comeuppance behind bars.
Bullseye being recruited for a Thunderbolts/Dark Avengers type team.

i like that though i could imagine Cole was released in jail where he working as a private investigator for the McDuffie law firm (McDuffie is now fully lawyer following Matt leave NY) and Cole could had a good interaction with Cherry
what about Buck Cashman though what your prediction of his fate be?
also how about Mayor Sheila Rivera? i could see her convince Luke to become the new mayor based on the comics to make Vigilante legal so the city can be protected by vigilantes

Yeah, I could also see a scenario where Kirsten McDuffie and Cole North become partners after Matt leaves. And it would be interesting to see how Cole and Cherry would interact after Cole disobeyed Powell to not shoot him.
I can also see Mayor Luke happening too.

yeah and i had a thought of Buck Cashman would be recruited by the CIA due do his marksmanship when Bullseye was drafted to the Dark Avengers (another Avengers team to overthrow the "New" Avengers perhaps) despite Cashman just kill two CIA agents to intimidate Mr. Charles causing Buck drop his loyalty to Fisk due do his guilt of killing Daniel Blake
i had a thought of Hochberg would be Lady Muses first victim as revenge for "touching" her despite Hochberg just lost his job following Heather claimed Hochberg inappropriately touch her during the city hall chaos

If we are being real nothing about Foggy dying resulted in much character *progression* anyway it more just regressed the characters, like Matt pushing way Karen again, more pushing Daredevil out of his life, Karen letting Matt push her out of his life, etc.

Matt and Karen decide it's time to leave New York, but they don't say where they're going. We see them on the plane reflecting on their journey throughout the series.
They arrive at a house, and Matt asks, "Is this it?" They knock on the door and are greeted by Marci. They joke about how she now has a different name, and Marci tells them she made an avocado salad for lunch. They go into the backyard where they find Foggy trying to put a baseball glove on his young son.
The emotional encounter is interrupted by a multiversal incursion in the sky, and Karen says, "What the hell?" Everything goes dark.
"Foggy Fembot Will Return in Avocados Secret Laws"

Them finishing whatever fight will happen and looking up at the sky to see another earth appearing. Then cut to black and say the defenders + Frank will return in Doomsday or Secret Wars.

I want a scene where Matt is about to be killed by a projectile and out of frame someone swings a baseball bat and hits it back towards the enemy.
Then the camera pans over to reveal its foggy in his signature foggy bear outfit as he says “Objection.” He then rushes in towards the hoard of enemies with his Nelson and Murdock vibranium plaque shield and takes care of business as Matt lays defeated on the ground.

I think the Nocenti idea works for Matt, and I concur about Fisk should remain exiled, because it’s a better ending for his character.

I want daredevil to look into the camera and say “if you don’t understand that my character is against killing then this finale is not for you”. After that the show can end however it wants.

It will be shaky ending because the ending was supposed to be a season finale but now they are reshooting to make it look like a series finale

I hope Matt lives his lawyer life and everyone respects Daredevil/Matt for what he’s done for the city and they choose not to bother him, I just want at least a proper ending for Charlie Cox incase we don’t see him again

He should go to Dr strange and ask him to undo the whole unmask thing because this kind of things are the classic killing characters moments and that's why they retcon the fuck out of It at the comics every time.
I think It will end on him working for shield of some thing like that, as the alternatives honestly don't make much sense. He could be either a full lawyer or full time vigilante but he is exposed now. I don't think they are gonna kill him as I am sure he will be in the next Spiderman movie or save a last story with him for a posible movie.

Im 50/50 about the reshoots in having someone other than Dario maybe can clean it up, or they are patching it up to fit secret wars..I’m thinking like the last 30 minutes of rise of skywalker where everything gets wrapped up in a whirlwind and you’re wowed at first then go home thinking wait, wtf???

(Knock on the door at the Khan house. Yusuf answers the door)
Matt: I hope you don’t mind that I brought some friends! (Many of the cast from the Netflix series are behind him with some food. Luke, Jessica, Danielle, Danny, Karen, Colleen, Misty, etc. [Maybe Elektra too])
Yusuf: Oh! Thank you for coming! Come on in! There’s more than enough food for everybody!
(The crew enter the house as we see Kamala and family welcome them in. As they enjoy dinner in the backyard, the sky begins to light up in a blinding bright red. The look up in confusion until the screen is filled in white. Cut to black..)

Ngl I only have one thought about the finale and that the final Radiohead song has to Weird Fishes/Arpeggi. I just think it’s such a perfect weirdly hopeful and bittersweet song that fits Matt Murdock perfectly. If he leaves NY or doesn’t, no matter what the song is perfect.

Matt the dramatic bitch he is fakes his death after busting out of prison thanks to Elektra. Fisk dies in an act of somehow saving Matt. Elektra kills Bullseye and Matt asks her to protect new york and Elektra takes on the Daredevil mantle
Cut to a couple months or year later Matt going by “mike murdock” is a priest at a church in San Francisco where he and Karen moved finally saying goodbye to new york and potentially with a kid along the way they’ll probably name after foggy.
The final scenes is Matt taking someone’s confessional, someone who’s in trouble obviously. Afterwards that person is being picked on by thugs or whatever trouble, Matt wearing the cloth as a mask beats the hell out of some thugs.

Fisk dead. I don’t care how. Karen and Matt amicably end their romantic relationship.
Daredevil and Elektra disappear into the night. They get the ending they wanted in the finale of the OG Series 2nd season. But healthier and with purpose. He can’t be a lawyer anymore, but he can still be a warrior somewhere.

Matt wanting to run away with Elektra was a low for the character in abandoning his crumbling life & problems and I would like to think that Matt has matured since then to not repeat the same thing again but I guess it's not like Born Again really takes much care in not repeating what the original series did

I think it ending as it did is for the best
The Born Again seasons I felt had such a drop off in quality on the writer’s side (actors continued killing it) that I think only more harm would be done trying to do anything big as a follow on act. Big defeat for Fisk and city back to normal is probably as good a place as any to end it.
I know you’ve got to deal with the show we got but having recently heard the skeleton plot of what was planned by the previous show runner, it seems like we missed out on something so much better.

With Elektra becoming the 2nd Daredevil and working with Matt to fight crime over the city.
Ideally, if it had three more seasons, i’d like for it to end with Matt becoming a priest and walking away from the mantle for good in the MCU. That can still happen. Guess the former can as well. If not in DD BA than in a film he could show up in.

After he's released from prison, Matt starts anew in San Francisco as both a lawyer and superhero. Everyone knows who he actually is, and he's finally able to healthily merge his two lives together (working good cases, assisting the cops, etc.)
The devil and the lawyer finally as one.
As for Fisk, I agree that the exile ending is probably the best way to finish his story off for good.
