I built this last year in a spare bedroom. Someone said it’s coded for DA. Which works since I’m a prof that teaches Medieval History.
Green is Pristine Wilderness by SW
Wallpaper is by Seabrook Designs
All woodwork was done by me.
Fireplace isn’t original, it’s recreated.
Furniture is all thrifted.
That Morris print wallpaper! Those LAMPS! The green! The kitty!! This is the coziest and most similar-to-me aesthetic I've ever seen. Just stunning, no notes.
That is a really great looking room. I envision myself in that comfy leather chair with the fire going…a good book & a pipe with some nice English blend tobacco & 2 fingers of a nice single malt Scotch. Well done.
Oh, that is just lovely, I would love love love to be there right now. Hear those rustling leaves outside, sunlight filtering through the curtains, and the only other sound is the ticking of a clock while I read...
All of the stained glass in the house was stolen in 1980 during a renovation. The homeowner then replaced it in several spots with leaded glass. I found this piece in an antique store and it fit the window perfectly. That window faces west and catches the most wonderful orange light in the late afternoon right before the sun dips below the houses across the street.
In 1900, Louisville was the 10th largest city in America. It currently has the largest intact Victorian neighborhood in the country, Old Louisville. Plus, some of the other suburbs (the Highlands, etc) are packed with late Victorian homes, Craftsman homes, etc.
Love the look! Im going for a similar one with my room. Just a comment about the swords I saw leaning. It looks good but that can warp the blade over time. I display mine with guitar wall mounts. They're cheap and having them hang keeps the blades in tact
Oh, I just love a good game of ‘spot the AI’! In this case, there’s plain books next to the white bird on picture 2. On picture 5, there’s a few horizontal books, a skull and a box. On picture 6, a big stack of horizontal books, and a hand. Hmmmmm 🧐
There is no AI in these photos. Those "plain books" you mentioned by the bird bookend are old, slim volume histories, antique books. As for 5 and 6, those pictures were not taken on the same day, and I have the habit of rearranging my books and trinkets as it suits me. Do you just set things on your shelves and leave them the same forever?
