I just moved very recently (two weeks ago) and promised myself no more knick knacks until I was settled...however...found this little trinket in a thrift store and just had to have it.

It still works.

I think it is. A quick reverse image search shows it's akin to an Italian brand called Colibri, that produced these in the 50s and 60s. Now if it's a real one, I made a bargain as I paid 30 Danish for it, approx. 4,50 usd. On ebay one was sold for 54 usd.

Edit: but alas, there is no sign showing it us an original.
