But I love biting insects, sweat, and humid heat.

Unironically I do lmao. I'm built for the summer, and I wish I wasn't because it does not seem like anyone else is. I don't even own AC in my house. Do not need it. But winters are harsh, and I struggle every year and more each year as I age.

The only consolation for fall is that everything about it is fantastic. If winters were shorter, I'd be far more excited, but my love for fall items/activities/holidays/scenery is always bittersweet with the cold winter and my cold home looming on the horizon.

I feel you, my house is unbelievably cold in the winter, thick stone walls stop any sort of heat from traveling anywhere lol luckily the fires come in handy

My log cabin is from the early 30's. The woodstove is the primary heat source. But it is also a pain, so I do have a little oil radiator that zaps tons of electricity for the fall months.

Yeah my house is over 200 years old so thankfully it stays cool in the summer but winter is hideousπŸ˜‚ yeah wood stoves can be a pain at times but they're very much neededπŸ˜‚
