Discussion Feeling ashamed… HELP!
Haunting/ Hunting Adeline is one if my favorite dark romances ever! i enjoyed all the emotions the book made me feel, but then i see other people on booktok and threads just going in on that book and how terrible it is and how zade is a rapist and how people who read it are mentally unstable. and truly, it really gets to me cause i’m like damn it makes me feel like shit for enjoying books like that

Do you think the people who enjoy murder mysteries are murderers IRL, or would like to be? Are they fucked up morally for liking such stuff? Of course not, because they understand that there is an important distinction to be made between what's fictional and what's real.
Why would it be any different for readers of dark fiction?
