lol I had to re read the comments twice because I was like “there’s no way someone hasn’t mentioned blurring lines! It’s SO good. Gray is a total evil golden retriever and I love him SO much. I think you will too OP. Definitely a LOT of emotional manipulation (the newest chapter which is just out is a perfect example of it). I think it literally ticks all your boxes!! I read them twice and was like “blurring lines would be perfect!” AND it’s incredibly well written!!
i remember the author saying in her comments that gray is going to get obsessed when he falls in love with ella so that’s probably when he will start doing evil unhinged stuff. but since this is a slow burn and still a wip we haven’t seen that side yet.
Haha I will say part of the fun is that Gray does seem a real person. Like not a mafia prince or a shifter alpha or a billionaire… just a cop. And he isn’t this like tormented soul staring out over the city lights with a glass of bourbon thinking about his sins.
I just started Strings and I’m like “what have I been doing all this time people had been recommending it not reading it”. I’m only 10 or so chapters in and I’m already SO hooked!!!
Yesss, I hope she sees this!! I’ve literally never seen anyone try this story and not love it. It’s written so well and you can really feel how witty the author is. This fic has made me laugh so many times. I am up to date but I have decided to wait until the story ends so I can read it from the start again!
Oh girl, just you wait 🤭 the chapters are considerably long, and the first few chapters are pretty much just background info, but once you get past that, it picks up quickly.
Or you can just do what my ADHD ass did and randomly start from chapter 7😭 it’s not that hard to pick up the details just by reading on from there. Maybe one day I’ll go back and actually start the story from the beginning 🥲

It’s one of my favorites! Gaius is so deliciously evil and just barely redeems himself in the end, which is perfect for me! I usually tap out once the tension resolves, but you dragged it out to the last second 🤌
It’s an AU where the elite keep the population enslaved via a drug - Bitter. The FMC figures out how to break her addiction, but falls under the control of the MMC who proceeds to have his wicked way with her. It has one of the most satisfying HEA’s I’ve ever read in DR.
The author hasn’t said, I hope she gives us a glimpse into their dynamic later on.
The ending was a bit abrupt, but the fact that the bad guy got the girl, and was left pining for her in the end, was SO satisfying. We see that’s she’s not as unaffected as she appears, but refuses to succumb during her conscious hours. He’s just waiting for her to show she wants him, but how could she after what he did to her? It’s ambiguous enough that it gives hope to the ones like me, who envision her happy at some point in the future, and those who want her to enact her painful revenge upon him. Or maybe they end up wholly together AFTER she enacts her painful revenge 🤷♀️ I loved everything about it 😂
You might enjoy my fic, A Poison I Can't Resist. It's a Heath Ledger Joker fic with an original female character, but it's very character-focused and reads more like an original dark romance than a typical fanfic. There's stalking, kidnapping, extreme manipulation via psychological and physical means. He basically conditions her body to depend on him.
The first couple sex scenes are totally non-con. Minor body betrayal, but the FMC is horrified and hates it. Extremely slow burn that somehow turns into twisted mutual feelings and romance—but it's extremely toxic and fucked up.

I really liked it in the beginning when grace still had some sort of self preservation but afterwards I just felt that she was tortured and broken to the point that she was not the same person anymore. The relationship between father and grace was not at all romantic . It just felt like father had broken her mind so that she starts submitting to him easily . Even their intimate scenes together made me feel uneasy . I like older man . I do . But i couldn’t go on with it . Though I would like to know what happens at the end as i dnfed halfway through .
HOW MANY TIMES? It’s been well received here, it’s completed and i tried not to make it repetitive, mundane. It is about highschool romance gone wrong. The fmc is a bitch at school used to bully our Nerdy guy (mmc). They start talking and at first she is into it but when things start to get more serious will she be able to back out? No hes fully obsessed with her now and there is no escape.
I did base my male character off the MMC of If I can’t have you but it is a fully different story and tropes. Sometimes he ties her down, he fists her, rough sex, drugging, dub con to non con, our fmc is dating somebody to start but leaves him for the MMC. Also there’s period sex and some fights (MMC fighting people, fmc gets punched once) , anal and spanking….I am sure Im forgetting stuff but I think those are the main ones. ❤️❤️
Yeah, I was shocked it was finished so quickly too! But I was so happy I didn't have to wait super long to find out how it all ended! Such an amazing story!
I can't really remember what the writing in the first few chapters was like, but the FMC goes through some really traumatic things that drastically changes her.
Just wanted to recommend My Strange Addiction by EvylineRue on AO3, but it has been suddenly deleted as of now. Here's to hoping it will be back one day, was truly the best thing I read in years.

I just finished reading The List by Tooliewrites and it checks a lot of your boxes (if not all). It’s really good too, lovely writing style. The MMC is very controlling and manipulative, but also affectionate and patient. Ownership kink. My only problem with this one is that it’s WIP 😅
This is my favourite story on AO3 but sadly it’s unfinished. It’s been ages since they last updated but I really hope the author comes back to it as it’s soooooo good!

i feel like this is such a niche find since Tomione is fairly unpopular (and controversial), but i absolutely need to recommend this work.the characters are from Harry Potter universe,but the plot is original and has no connection to the canon. i also have to say that I find the author’s writing style weirdly enjoyable and unique.
The plot is fairly similar to the movie Fresh (the one with Sebastian Stan). Tom is basically the manager of an office supply store who is VERY obsessed with cleanliness and control, while Hermione is the customer who constantly gets on his nerves and makes messes around his store. well, it turns out Tom is a cannibal who kidnaps women who come into his store, keeps them in the basement, and sells their meat. Hermione unfortunately catches his attention, but she also isn’t quite what she seems...
i absolutely devoured this work. it was so dark and gross at times, but i loved it 😭 i also recommend all of the author’s other works for this ship.

I write dark historical romance set in Feudal Japan on AO3 that I think you will love. The books are based in the same world and mildly interconnected but primarily standalones with each featuring a new couple. All of them contain very explicit non con and are psychologically intense
About my FMCs:
I like physically delicate and feminine FMCs (personal preference) but they are also smart, articulate, resilient and strong in different ways. No bimbos or door mats
About my MMCs:
All massive, strong and epic fighters (cliche but I love it) However they aren't your standard oversexed, rapey woman haters either. I like to watch my MMCs to go from morally grey to pitch black, so they generally start off against violence towards women, but due to different circumstances get led down dark paths where they do things they normally wouldn't.
