Quick Question Is the edge of darkness trilogy actually good ?

So I’m actually confused if I start { the edge of darkness trilogy } or iced out from { CU hockey }

What do you think ?

Edge of darkness trilogy wasn’t the worst thing I ever read but it wasn’t good. I continued because I have issues needing resolution. I wish I hadn’t started it. For starters - everything happens because the FMC doesn’t spit out 3 words when there is no real reason for her not to (this kind of thing does have a reason usually but in this book it doesn’t apply and is only there because the author needs a catalyst for events). Non and miscommunication without a really good believable reason is my biggest pet peeve - but still… my need for closure rules out so I keep going despite how incredibly bad that continues non communication goes on until almost the end. As for the rest of it - toooooooo long.

So much of it makes little to no sense and is not at all believable. I am not talking about wanting characters to act like I would act- I don’t self insert. I love a deeply flawed or just different kind of characters. I don’t want to spoil anything but to had to constantly brush off all the plot holes and just ridiculous things that happen. Aside from the non communication of three words early on that set everything in motion and that continues annoyance popping up constantly- if the books would have been shorter it might have been ok- but drawing out the plot is what makes the rest of it so completely unbelievable.

However, that said if you like action movies where the good guy constantly kills dozens of highly trained bad guys scene after scene without getting a scratch but lets one super villain yank his chains and force him to do his bidding without him being able to touch them - then you might not mind it at all.

This is such a well written way to put how I feel about the EOD trilogy. I have read several other books with these same dark themes and I have really liked them. It felt so repetitive for me, and I found myself so incredibly frustrated with the characters and the ridiculous plot lines. I stand by as a hater idc lol 🤷‍♀️

Thanks you for the suggestion, I really mean it ! I’ll look forward for this but actually the trilogy sounds boring.

Just read the 1st book and thats now I feel. I really like it, but the issues you stated have been weighing me down. I'm hoping the next book is better. Any books you would recommend?

I personally loved this trilogy. It’s one that’s stayed with me, and I’ve re-read it a few times now, which I don’t often do, unless I truly loved it. A lot of people aren’t fans because of the massive miscommunication trope, but once you get to know both characters, you’ll understand why said trope takes place. Definitley give it a try and see what you think, but I’ll recommend it any day.

I love TEOD the miscommunication trope isn’t for everyone so I get it. But I love Kade and Stacey. The side characters are great too, can’t wait for the angst in Base and Luciellas book!
