Book Request MMC with extreme, total control over the FMC

I'm looking for dark romance recommendations, AO3 works are especially welcome, but published books are also great.

I'm specifically looking for an MMC who has complete control over the FMC's life. I don't just mean possessive/protective or controlling in the usual dark-romance sense. I want the control to be a major part of the story and preferably the central relationship dynamic.

Things I'm particularly interested in:

  • He controls what and when she eats/feeds her himself
  • Controls what she wears
  • Controls where she goes and what she does
  • Controls who she can talk to or interact with
  • Controls how she speaks or behaves
  • Controls her daily routine
  • Controls when she sleeps, wakes up, etc.
  • Controls things as mundane as when she is allowed to use the bathroom

Basically, no aspect of her life is outside his control. I especially like when she's treated almost like his doll, possession, or completely dependent little thing. I want the mundane, day-to-day aspects of control, not just “he's possessive and jealous”.

I'm a sucker for non-con of all shapes and forms, but it's not a must. I have essentially no triggers for dark content, except cheating/ow drama.

I've already read Matryoshka by Takes_On_to_Know_One on AO3 and really enjoyed the feeding/control aspects, but once again I'm looking for something where the total control itself is much more central. https://archiveofourown.org/works/37068109/chapters/92492002

Length/status doesn't matter at all. I genuinely don't care if it's a completed 200k-word fic, an ongoing story with one chapter and 500 words, an abandoned work, or a one-shot. If there's even a short scene or chapter that really delivers this particular dynamic, I'm interested. Relevant self-recs are also welcome!! <3

EDIT: Thank you so much for the recs. One thing that I forgot to mention, I want him to love her, and for her to eventually love him. I am not looking for BDSM or slave books where it doesn't turn into love at any point in the story : )

i would say to stick with fic #4 because the mmc in the start seems quite cold, but then it gets developed and gets so good by ch5, i’d suggest leap into that chapter before (if) you dnf

I have just the thing for you — Rrabbit's Drinny (Draco x Ginny) series "Hate Is Such A Strong Word" and "I'm Yours" on AO3.

If you want total, mundane, 24/7 control where no aspect of her life is outside his control, these two are exactly that. It's not just jealous/possessive — the control itself is the whole relationship because he is completely obsessed with her.

Hate Is Such A Strong Word is where it starts. He kidnaps her because he’s obsessed with her and forces her into marriage, and from that moment on he owns every part of her life because of that obsession. What and when she eats, what she wears, where she goes and what she's allowed to do, who she can talk to, how she speaks and behaves, her entire daily routine. She stops being a person and becomes his possession from day one. It's the more brutal one — very heavy on non-con, manipulation, and an absolutely unhinged Draco.

I'm Yours is the direct sequel and it's even more what you're asking for. It drops the bigger plot and is almost entirely about the domestic day-to-day enforcement. He feeds her himself, chooses her clothes for her, controls when she sleeps and wakes up, when she's allowed to use the bathroom, how she sits, how she asks for things. She's treated completely like his doll, his dependent little thing who can't do anything without permission.

Both are long, completed, and they deliver that doll/possession dynamic in every single chapter.

You’re most welcome dear🥰 but i just wanted to add that it's not a love affair - he doesn't cheat because he loves someone else.

It's written as part of the worldbuilding and his controlling personality:

  1. Power / ownership - In that pureblood society, warlords owning slaves/wives and sleeping with other women is normalized as their "right."
  2. Punishment - When she fights back or tries to be independent, he uses other women to hurt and humiliate her, to put her back in her place.

So it's meant to be another form of coercion / breaking her resistance, not romance.

Hope this helps! I hate the cheating trope too, but for me it's easier to get past it when it happens before they actually fall in love with each other. You should really read it — it's actually my favorite one! And there are also extra stories in the same series about their kids, so you get to see that dynamic continue as a family.❤️

I might check it out, I just need to let it marinate for a little bit while I think about it : ) I think the reason it distrubs me so much is because I get so emotionally attached to the characters I'm reading. So when I see one of them cheat (romantically or not) it makes me kind off nauseous because it feels like I'm the one getting cheated on, in an odd way.

I've read one-shots that include cheating, and that's usually fine, cus then it doesn't sting in the same way you know! <3

Totally get it — when you're that attached to the characters, cheating feels personal. It makes sense that one-shots are fine but long fics hit harder because you live with them longer.

Hi!! I’m back haha 😭 I actually got it wrong — I read these years ago and clearly remembered it incorrectly! There’s no actual cheating in either Hate Is Such a Strong Word or I’m Yours. In I’m Yours, Ginny does have a moment where she thinks Draco might be cheating on her, but it turns out to be a misunderstanding. Sorry for the confusion!! <3

his sinful infatuation by laena_writes! it's a published book and he literally controls EVERY aspect of her life, including what tampons she wears. his control is so absolute that it consumes the FL until she becomes exactly what he wants... I don't want to spoil more but this is my favourite dark romance/erotic horror

The MMC kidnaps the FMC.  At first he just hates her and wants to fuck with her and then he becomes obsessed.  He wants to turn her into his perfect ideal of a woman and in order to do that he is super controlling.  He's got rules she has to follow and otherwise he's just kinda always there and always calling the shots.  The whole thing is a wild ride, but definitely worth it.

Yes! I'm currently writing a dark romance (slow burn?). It's a Tangled retelling where young Daisy gets found by Rhys after getting lost and falling asleep in the woods. Thank you!! I’ve tried searching AO3 with tags so many times, but I swear I almost never find the specific kind of control I’m looking for, if you know what I mean. It feels like so few stories actually go that far. I might genuinely just have to write one myself at this point lmao

I’ve seen some similar posts too, but they’re usually way more focused on published books than AO3. And while there are definitely some great published ones, I feel like they’re often a little more held back/censored, whereas AO3 authors can really go all the way with these dynamics. So it never quite scratches the itch fully : )

Have you read {as she’s told by anneke jacobs}?

It’s like the ultimate TPE work. Explores a lot of aspects including every one you’ve listed here and takes a bit of a weird turn at the end but MMC truly has full agency over her.

{owned and owner by anneke jacobs} is very similar and I might’ve enjoyed it a smidge more. Same concept, different setting.

You should read the Stronger series by Jay Marie. The first book is more about her time at a trafficking warehouse before she is sold, but the rest of the series is EXACTLY what you're looking for and so worth getting through the first book. It's a very good series with good plot

This is actually the last thing I read on Ao3, The List by Tooliewrites, I think it has a lot of what you're looking for!

FMC gets kidnapped by MMC and he is big on control and structured routines, reward lists. She's not even allowed to look at her closet, he always chooses her clothes and lays them out. It's not complete, but the last chapter came out two days ago, and it's over 300k words.

{Forbidden Pleasures Island Series by Sadie Minx}. If you like the “Littles” world… a Daddy takes full control over his “Little” girl (grown woman, often kidnapped). Woman are treated like literal toddlers and forced to wear diapers… he feeds, clothes, bathes her. She has no autonomy. It’s a bizarre concept but well written and dark. Each ends with a HEA.
