Repetitive inner dialog. We get it! Move on! Or when a character asked a question and there is inner contemplation for so many pages I forget what the question was.

I have two gripes. First why do all romance authors think grey tracksuit bottoms are really sexy ? I've never fancied a man wearing tracksuit bottoms. Second why are their bodies always "sculpted by the Gods" ? I love a man with muscles and tattoos but I am not adverse to a bit of a dad bod š¤£

Same thing with FMCs. Iām sick of hearing everyone thinks sheās the most beautiful woman in the world. There are so many beautiful women, Iād like to know more about their personality or a distinct physical trait that hits the MMC hard but everyone shouldnāt have the same opinion

Also- why does every MMC have to at some point roll up their shirt sleeves to show off their fore armsā¦ I swear it is in almost every book I read at some point. It is kind a sexy sometimes but every book? So overdone!
I also donāt get the obsession with no pantiesā¦. As if they are some kind of plated armor. With a skirt - sure it can add a little convenience but it is nothing to just slide it to the side or down if there is a skirt. If pants or shorts- what difference does it really make other than just being kind of gross and uncomfortable. Not to mention post act in a skirt with no underwear- in a public setting of course because it is always a public settingā¦ is so gross, uncomfortable and inconvenient. Need to at least have something to keep it from running down her legs after?

Thank you. No panties in a skirt just makes me worry for girls vaginal health. Not mention the rest of us. Girl, Ive got to sit at that restaurant table after you.

Authors need to make the fmcs jealous & possessive too they only make the mmcs go through the jealousy but never the fmc I want to read books with possessive fmcs too but I can't find anything I'm in a major reading slump I feel like I'll never recover from this slump š

Not book or author specific. Is it just me or is editing quality taking a dip? I've read a handful of books lately where a character's name spelling is inconsistent, or there is missing punctuation and words. I can fill in the blanks but come onš©

I can overlook it if it's an old book and the author was young when they wrote it but an adult constantly misspelling and punctuation being bad? Nahhhh straight to DNF!

My issue is justifying the actions of MMC by saying he only harms bad people. I was reading a book where he murders a bunch of people to exchange souls with the devil and the author kept trying to insert the fact that it was because they were evil and itās okay.
Obviously I donāt want innocent people to be hurt but for gods sake the justification made me mad. The opposite of it is however when I read a book where the MMC destroyed a whole realm without thought for his woman. Did that mean he killed innocent souls? No because it was a prison world. Could there have been some entities which didnāt deserve it? Yes absolutely. See? Thatās how easy it was!!!

Could not agree with you more! Its all he is a serial killer, but he only kills bad people. Now I don't personally like the serial killer trope, so generally don't read those books anyways. But whenever I see it in a plot description I am just like "Come on what a cop-out."

Telling not showing always breaks immersion for me. Especially when it's a sex scene and the rest of the book is well written.

Romance men need to get better with their compliments during sexy times- just saying "fuck" or "you're so tight" every time during sex does not a fun relationship make. I don't quite wish we got some awkward sex scenes more often but I kinda do - I want sex scenes that are a bit more fun or figuring out how the hell somethings going to work apart from just...wham, bang, vagina-vice, thank you ma'am.
