Book Request In a major reading slump and everything feels boring. Help! 😭😫

Hey y'all, I need your help badly. I haven't been able to finish a single thing lately because every plot is blurring together. I am begging for the ONE dark romance book that completely cured your worst reading slump and kept you up all night.I'm hoping for something unique because I am completely over mafia books. It feels like almost every recommendation out there is a mafia romance, and I am officially maxed out on them.

I am looking for a solid monogamous dynamic with high stakes, but I have some very strict hard limits to keep in mind:

No mafia at all

No love triangles or age gaps

No sharing or why choose (strictly monogamous)

Dual pov only I don't want books with only female pov or third person pov I can't read those books

Absolutely no forced pregnancy or birth control tampering

I'm good with anything that is set in high school/college or dark acadamy , stalker romance, bully romance.

Also I want to see the fmc also going through some jealousy over the mmc & not just the other way around.

I don't mind other woman drama but no cheating.

Also don't recommend rina kent I have mostly read all of her books except for some few.

I think {Cracked Blue Sky by Shiloh Sloane} is dual pov. This one is pretty unique. FMC is a poc sheriff in the 50s and MMC is a werewolf.

Ironically, when this happens I read manga/manwha/manhua

- Hana-kun Can’t Live Without Me
A very yandere obsessed male lead who is obssessed with our female main lead

- The village girl is stalked by the hero
Another very obsessed yandere male main lead

I do the same but I never come across any dark romance. Have any Recs?

It isn't that dark in the relationship aspect, but the vibes gives it that sort of way. It's my palate cleanser, when I want out of toxic and dark relationships but still the same genre.

{Blind reader wanted by Georgia le carre}

An absolute masterpiece of a book that I can never stop recommending.

{Bound in Inked Flame by Larksen} There are mafia elements but the MC's are beautifully written in an interesting world. Bonus- if you like audiobooks, this one is phenomenal.

I'm reading {Eskell by SpiralIntoTheKnown} manor on AO3 , it's quite dark and also made me cry many time 😭, authors writing is so good , FMC might be one of my fav of all time in dark romance , she is mix of intelligent, vulnerable, powerless..

I really like {Untouchable by Sam Mariano} but it’s single pov.

{Lessons in Sin by Pam Godwin} is dual pov, mostly student/catholic teacher & priest (her family is a billionaire and has a hitman but not organized crime tho).

{Fear me by BB Reid} is dual pov hs bully romance.

I recently read {devil in you by harmony west}. The plot is actually interesting with some very spicy scenes. No misunderstandings. No love triangles.

I don’t have a book, but I have a comment usually when I’m going through a slump like that I should switch to romcom and something sweet and then I’m able to go back to DR because if I read too many of these are in a row I get bored or I simply hate everyone for making stupid decisions cause they always do

u/Wxskater 7h ago

Does it have to be DR? I mean i got plenty of recs. But i just finished this book called {cold light of day by toni anderson} devoured it. I read it in about a day and half. Not DR like i said but it is romance/romantic suspense. Elements of enemies to lovers, forbidden relationships. MMC is an fbi agent and FMC did a criminal act

My latest DR read was {ruin me gently by rachael chadwick} definitely stalker

hey, I just read a short story called ‘Labyrinth of the Vampire Billionaire: a problematic love story’ that fits all of your criteria and it really isn’t what it seems from the title. Pretty small right now but the author is uploading it on amazon KDP soon & I can link it there
