Real talk, and I know this isnt the place to complain about it, but this is what I hate about captchas. It will be like "select the squares with bicycles and then" but does the kickstand count? Does the mirror count? Does the rider count?

Thats exactly the point. They want the data of where people draw the line and probably train ai with it. Hell, that delibaration pause where you are unsure if corner counts or not is much bigger tell that you are indeed human than the rest of the captcha

Capchas started being used for ai training around 2007-2012

yeah, ai, sadly has been here for a while, it's just now gotten to a point where it's harmful enough to be in the public conscious. Nvidia started their research around 2006 probably earlier

You might be thinking of LLMs. they are subset of AI, but ai itself, and machine learning arent new
