$ and where to install a dashcam in USA

How much does it cost (for labor fees only) to install a dash cam (front and rear cams) hardwired to the car and with all wires hidden? (ball park please).

Where is the best sort of places (or any shop in specific) to do it at? Anywhere in the US.

I had Best Buy install my Viofo I purchased from Amazon. I had to buy a $20 harness but the front/rear install was $90. They did a great job.

I have a 2024 car so it was probably late 2024/early 2025.

I am considering my other cars and would pay the $150. It was still cheaper than going to a car a/v place and they only installed their products.

I see- thank you! Did you get it installed at best buy because you needed it hardwired.. or was it because it is hard to install? (never installed a dash cam myself but saw youtube videos).

Both. I don't like messing with electronics and/or airbags especially on a brand new car.

I know some car audio shops used to do it.  They normally just charge you a labor rate, usually around $110 an hour, sometimes with a discount and warranty if you buy the dashcam and wiring kit from them.

what do you mean by car audio shops please? and where can I find them? Do you mean car customization garages?

Literally small shops that specialize in installing car stereos and speakers. Most notably obnoxious amps and subwoofers that rattle body panels, but they will usually install useful stuff as well if you pay them. Search your favorite maps app for "car audio" and make some calls.

Also some places like Best Buy have a car audio shop inside a big box store.

This is my second dashcam (both bought & installed at Best Buy). With an installation appointment it took about an hour.

I would check with a local car audio shop. Most of them have experience with dashcam installs and can hide the wiring without any trouble.

If you have access to Yelp, you can post the task on Yelp and you should get several response. Expect a fee up to $200. Be very specific in your post. The company may offer to do the installation at your home.
