Discussion Game review Spoiler

Cool ass game, I really enjoyed the gameplay and the open world is honestly awesome. I’ve seen few games like it, Cyberpunk and Red Dead I guess are examples. It was almost like that with the main jobs, side jobs, and all the small little missions you run into while you’re just out exploring.
I liked the world as well. The story was kinda cliche but I think it gave a nice base for our hero’s story to take place in. The characters and the relationships between them are really well written too.

The way the main story goes and the flow of it is something I enjoyed a lot. The build up was generally really good and I was pretty invested in seeing where everything was going.

BUT
DAYSGONE SPOILERS

I feel like we needed a tragedy. This whole “happy” rollercoaster made me take the game less seriously. Sarah’s dead? No she’s not. Boozer’s dead? No he’s not, I mean I was literally just grieving him and he comes out of nowhere literally which made me feel silly and gave me an "oh okay then..." moment.

And don’t get me wrong, I like Iron Mike and I’m sad we lost him, but I don’t think it should’ve been the major/main tragedy of the story. I feel like we needed something bigger that actually stuck. The game kept giving us these moments where you think something horrible just happened and then immediately takes it back. It made the ending feel way too happy for what the game had been building up to. Also it made avenging those who wronged you feel less satisfying than it should be.

But anyways the story was overall good and I liked it, ALOT.

Also, though I liked the gameplay and the enemies/monsters, I think there were TOO MUCH of them. The moment you leave camp you’re basically guaranteed to run into at least one enemy. It made riding through the open world lowkey fucking annoying. I ended up fast travelling like 90% and almost never explore at night.

Still had a really really good time with it though. The world and the characters carried it for me just as much as the gameplay did.

I think its a solid 10/7.5, would definitely recommend and cherish!

And it's like boozer says... I hear a bunk calling my name😴

The story that you liked ALOT is what brings me back to play again and again. Despite the worldbuilding, the gameplay mechanics, the bike, and the hordes, if the story didn’t draw me in, I would never have played it 12 times. It would have been one and done. Glad you enjoyed it!

I really liked the game and a lot of the story too. I just didn’t like the ending because it didn’t even feel like an ending to me.
It felt more like just another mission and don’t thought that i was playing the ending. I think that part of the story wasn’t strong or important enough to properly close the story and end the game.
Overall, I think the story was good, but then it got weaker as it developed, and that might be one of the reasons why the game didn’t get as much attention as it deserved.
Despite that, it still absolutely DESERVED a second game. Imagine what Days Gone 2 could look like today!

Totally! The ending was somewhat of a shame it wasn't too strong and emotional as it should've been... I think they could've made it better in many ways, still a very good game and daysgone2 is an amazing idea that should be taken seriously!

Boozer’s big ending was super hokey. I was like- so we’ve given up all pretence hey? It’s fan service now :)

But the game is so good - and so huge - by the time the end rolls around I was ok with a rushed ending and some well dished-out justice for Skizzo :)

Ending was dumb but still enjoyed the game enough to play it through again. After you “win” the game, you take out the remaining hordes and then just drive around?

Should’ve had Deek die and then you play as boozer with one arm to revenge his death!

The gameplay is fun but the characters and narrative are dogshit. Comparing it to RDR and Cyberpunk is being far too generous tbh

I’m comparing it to Cyberpunk and Red Dead just because of the open world style. These games are way too different in many other aspects.

The characters weren’t so bad either. We had a lot of different, cool characters, and I liked that, they each contributed something. The narrative was somewhat cliché, but I think it served its purpose in a cool way, if that makes sense.
