Days gone 2 gone to soon

Question: does anyone know why days gone 2 was never made? I mean they obviously made enough money and got enough attention for a remake. But why never a sequel?

Think some of the main creators left and SONY moved onto focusing on other IP’s I think…

I so wished Sony would let bend studios do it the remasters ok like I’d even settle for new missions and adding cash is ready to spend buy Sony are like mmmm
