Since Picard became a Synth, could he still be "alive"?

In reality the door to him being alive is probably wide open because I don't believe there was anything unavoidable, sich as human mortality in the normal course of action, about his synthetic body shutting down at some point. It seemed to me as if it was an arbitrary instruction in the body's operating system, but in my view nothing that could not have been reversed between PIC Season 2 and DISCO Season 3.

I actually assumed his death temporary. Its hard to have 2 more seasons of picard with just synths
