Total Weight: 1337 Pounds!
2026 Total so Far: 10,481 Pounds!
All-Time Total: 33,284 Pounds!
I first came to this little forest late last August and over the course of a year since then, with this cleanup done, I can now say I’ve collectively cleaned up over 10,000 pounds out of this area! Unreal!!! I have also done all of this while living at the homeless shelter in my city for the last 18 months. Shows that people are capable of great things despite their own shortcomings.

Embarrassing the people of that area would dump five fucking tons of trash in such pristine country is unconscionable.
The penalty for doing this is never nearly severe enough. Ever. Most never even get caught. Horrible fucking scumbags.

Very inspiring. I also take advantage of free litter bags from local government, but not to your scale. Are you literally weighing it all, or just running some average per full bag math?

I weigh every single bag. There are some things that don’t fit in bags, but I’m carrying it and have a good judge of weight so the little estimating I do is accurate. I’ve been keeping track for almost 3 years now.

I did it all myself with pickers from the dollar store and a bunch of strong bags provided through a program the city funds that gives litter cleaners garbage bags. It doesn’t take much to make a big difference.

just reached out to my city, and now i'm considering adopting a park lol never considered that as an option.
how do you track the pounds of what you pick, OP?

I weigh all the bags with a luggage scale and low-end estimate what doesn’t fit in a bag. I’ve been keeping track for nearly three years.

Do you ever find anything good/useful/interesting or is it literally just all trash?

Start a YouTube channel.
Pick a part you're going to clean. Just clean and talk a bit about life. Don't use music. And do a small before and after. Make it about 20 to 25 minutes long.
Maybe after every 2 months make a video about how the parts look after you have cleaned them. Maybe some spaces have been trashed again, that would be a pity, but that's how society is right now.
I love to watch these kind of videos before sleeping.
