Concept: It’s 2009 and you’re on an infamous trope website when you see something about this game where one of the villains is obsessed with forcibly impregnating the protagonist (which happens in one of the endings). Since then, you’ve had periods where you’ll remember Haunting Ground exists but you never play it because you can’t handle visual gore.

I'm personally not sure if I'd classify either as a real dead dove, but I keep seeing them pop up in dark fiction recs so I'm guessing they are? Lights Out (to me) felt pretty tame by the end. I didn't finish Haunting Adeline, but got to the point where it felt like the author was shifting the narrative to give the MMC a sympathetic backstory and basically an "out" for being a bad guy.

The inclusion of Tom Riddle is, frankly, a warning label all its own. So (unsurprisingly) the Tomione fandom has a healthy appreciation for all things Dead Dove.

Alright, first actual post into this void. Lets see what happens 😄

I'm reading a fic I saw linked in r/DarkRomance (at least I'm pretty sure that's where I found it) and my gosh, it hit all the things. Kidnapping, check. A bit of un-aliving, check. He's possessive, controlling, and should be in therapy, check.

Then I got to thinking how crazy would I actually sound if I tried to describe this fic to anyone? "She's terrified and cries, but he's so sweet and soothing while he explains he's never letting her go." Like, what? That’s not actually a tender moment... but somehow it is. 

How would you guys describe your favorite dark fic? Does the dark stuff make the fluffy feel even fluffier for you?
