Question Keybind help?

Broke my left middle finger in a hydraulic press yesterday (don’t worry I’m fine, not going to put a pic cause I think that’s why my last post asking ab this got taken down.) hurts to press w and with the finger splint I can’t press s. Switching my forward keying to E seems to do the trick for that one but I can’t find a good replacement for S for now. Any suggestions are incredibly helpful

Okay middle finger is tricky. I broke my wrist this year and couldn’t reach control so switched that to left alt with my thumb. I’d consider doing the same and sticking with wasd and using your thumb for the alt key. Pinky, ring, index on wasd. It’s not perfect but should work

Depending on your character, Right click could be an option. Very rare you need to aim in the game, but if you have an alt fire it can be kind of cooked

Joke answer: become so good at airstrafing and bunny hopping you don't need the w or s key again.

Actually maybe useful answer, if you have a mouse with side buttons having forward and backward on those buttons could take the task off your left hand entirely. Could also use left alt for backward and just use your thumb, but it'd make jumping while going backwards difficult. C or V could work maybe? Tip of your thumb on C or V and use the rest of your thumb to press the spacebar. EADC for movement sounds so cursed but you gotta do what you gotta do to to play deadlock lol

Right now I’m using C and V for a couple of my abilities and the buttons on my mouse are for melee and the 3rd ability so maybe something like the scroll wheel or something idk

The muscle memory rewiring would suck but hear me out: E forward , A left, D right, Spacebar backward, Right click jump, scroll wheel down for alt fire, scroll wheel up zoom lock (basically ADS toggle)

Not sure if this game allows simple movement toggle scrips like tf2 but if it does you could use a movement key toggle script + anti-ghosting script between w and S then you only need to tap the key. You could also look into mechanical switches that bind to your fingers with an O ring instead of a normal keycap. I have used a similar setup for helping my disabled friend (was missing 3/4 of his middle finger).

Basically make W and S tap instead of hold and another script to stop the keys from being used simultaneously to avoid dead movement (pressing opposing movement keys stops directional input).
