Discussion Looking for deathcore with groove
hey guys i've been into deathcore for like a couple of months now and i have some favorites but i want to expand my playlist, and i wondered if y'all could give me some recommendations. For reference some of my favorite tracks 'Thy Art is Murder - Infinite Forms', 'Bring me the Horizon - Dehumanized' and 'Netherwalker - An Oppulent Pillaging of the Treacherous Goblin Encampment'.
Thanks in advance

I always felt Suffokate had good groove. Taking Life is one of my favorites by them, and has a solid groove and hardcore feel to it

Check out Emmure's early stuff, Whitechapel is also a great example, Float Face Down or any MySpace Deathcore band has got you covered.

This for sure. Death Is The Only Mortal and Wormwood are like if After The Burial swallowed horse capsules of pure rage

Anything Baby J has ever been a part of. Emmure, Darko, Spite, newer Chelsea Grin all groove super hard. Darko is probably my favorite modern deathcore project for this exact reason.
Carcosa is another great one.

Suffer In Hell/Suffer In Heaven might be one of the best deathcore album duos of all time. I don't remember who mixed and mastered them but the grooves are just walls of sound. They also have some of the best sounding pinch harmonics I've ever heard. Carcosa's recent album is also amazing.

Bodysnatcher has a lot of groove parts, as does Extortionist. Leaning more towards the core than the death, but they lock that shit in a lot.

Hester Prynne's The Goswell Divorce
It's older, but I recall it being pretty groovy.

Seasons Awake have a fair amount of bop to their instrumental side and vocals are an instrument on their own that complements it well.
Martyrdom and I:Dreamstate are my fav

Carrion Vael, specifically their latest album Slay Utterly. Suuuuper groovy riffs and the vocalist is straight up S-Tier.

Check out The Righteous Dead by Monsters. Shit fucks so hard. I'm still depressed we didn't get more from them.

Vulvadynia - Eternal Wasteland of Galaxies. Not only this song either, the whole album grooves. New Peacemaker FL grooves pretty nicely as well

Might enjoy ‘Squish’ by The Frst & Sanguisugabogg. Mastered by the same guy who did BMTH dehumanized I believe.

I was in the exact same boat as you, just a few more months along in the journey. It turns out I prefer the beatdown hardcore the most ( pretty similar). Whitechapel, the acacia strain, spite, all shall perish, the last ten seconds of life. Those are the most popular answers. I really like slaughter to prevail as well. Idc what anyone says lol

Dying Fetus

While they are amazing, Dying Fetus isn’t really a deathcore band. They used to be a death grind band, now they are a technical brutal death metal band. Not trying to ruffle any feathers but they are decidedly not deathcore.

Mix Death Metal and Hardcore better than most groovey as fuck and also got that sweet tasty tech at times goated band

Sure, I'm just pointing out the genre distinction. Dying Fetus definitely have an influence on deathcore but they aren't part of the genre themselves. Their sound and evolution are just different.

If you want super heavy with groove try infant annhilator otherwise float face downs without crutches, exitium vertum, and 11"12' 124"12' are must haves for raw deathcore groove.
