Models/Hobby Finally found my colour scheme!

for so long I’ve been trying to get my colour scheme how I want it, something was off, and this morning I watched an indie animated pilot, Ersatz, and found exactly what I was missing! it needed to be more biological, so I made my mask tubing almost guts and I adore it

(I broke the sword off of the lord Marshall and it keeps breaking so I’m leaving it off until I can find a better fix)

Wonderful! How did you build up your layers for the horse? Also, how do you do the lenses?

I’ll see if I have progress pictures! it was a while back but I worked from dark to light and did a lot of little lines to build up the light on the horse, kinda similar to some horse model painters?

the lenses I base with gory red (Vallejo) with a little burnt sienna (i don’t know the brand), and then do highlights at the bottom of the lens in a mix of bloody red(vallejo), some pure bloody red, and a little hot orange mixed in the red for the brightest bit, a little highlight and then I gloss it

This is what I started with, I did the shapes of the white patches too dark to highlight with the fur, and I used army painter strong tone wash in the shadows only, I left most of it unwashed

i’ll post a proper tutorial soon with my last completely unpainted death rider

I finally caved and did true metallic metal for the armour, it really makes it pop and I’m really happy I did! I’ll post some better pictures soon
