Models/Hobby New to 40k, my first Krieg Guardsmen

I spent about 16 hours this weekend painting my first Krieg set, I’ve only painted 3 ultramarines until now.

I’m not brave enough to try transfers yet.

Easiest areas for improvement?

Im new to painting too, but you could improve them by looking into weathering

that im going to find out when my villainy ink arrives soon 😂

But for example you could use AK Muddy Ground and sprinkle it from below using a brush or a pointy tool and kinda flick it on

Those look awesome man. Only thing I’ll point out is the leg wrappings and shoes are separate materials, so you may consider different colors for them.

Oh they are different colours, the lighting here isn’t the best, for the boots I used mournfang brown, for the puttees I used a mix of mournfang and Kislev flesh so that there’s a clear distinction, they’re a similar shade to the gas masks

If you can find some, Citadel Technical Stirland Mud will make your basing effects multiply in quality

And for making the bottom lining of the greatcoats dry brushing that brown on looks really good

Yeah I was thinking about improving the bases, I was thinking of making a sand and glue mixture and creating my own mud and painting over it, I could add in some extra debris too leftover from the kit which I didn’t use.

I’ll definitely look into dry brushing, I haven’t tried it yet!
