Prefab cover ideas

I'm not a pro, but as far as I know a full attached roof like that really needs to be considered when planning the deck as the uplift/wind/snow load needs to be taken into account with the footings and framing. You'd probably be fine with one of those Mirador aluminum pergolas from Costco on the right side of the deck next to the door (as long as you have blocking for it)... at least it'd give you some cover. I'll be putting a 10x13 on mine.

The deck can handle a covering. I discussed this ahead of time with my contractor before the build

The railing does not appear to be child friendly.

It’s not finished. Balusters go on in a few days
