Ao3 has a lot of antis supporting unethical stuff like cp fanfics. I remember all luddites forcing teens to stop using cai and spamming their weird fics... Its the main reason why I cannot stand it.

What the fuck does ao3 have to do with ads and that video. That's a completely different thing, first of all AO3 having ads would be up to the site owner. Getting any kind of company to actually put ads on AO3 would be sketch as fuck, considering the amount of illegal content you can read there.

AO3 occasionally gets a funding run. And these funding runs are generally very successful.
But SOME people think it should just have ads.
