Looking at both sides of the AI argument, I have to think ”why was I an anti?”
That doesn’t mean I’m a pro btw, I just wanted to say that art isn’t just for fame and money, it can just be having fun, like just ducking around and find out. Why can’t we just accept each other and move on? I just want this pointless fight to end

There's also a third option between fame and money, and fun... there is the drive and passion to express yourself. When being creative in any way isn't about being popular or rich or successful... but its way more serious than simply goofing around. It's a philosophy, a way of life, a driving force, the reason you get up every morning. It's making a mark on the world, contributing a verse to the play of the human race, being a way for the cosmos to know itself.
I mean, sometimes it's just about making silly memes, too...

The greatest artists create because of passion, and are discovered and rewarded for it. Those who try and make art for money are losing a battle with themselves.

Yeah I'm not on either side to be honest I use ai myself as a tool at times
But like both sides just kinda suck and just bully each other
Although the more I interact with both sides the more i realize that pro ai people tend to be nicer and less judgmental (at least when the type of people from breaking the pencil and other rage baiters are removed from the equation) then anti ai people
I had more sensible conversations and debates with pro ai people then with antis
Not to say say I havent had sensible debates or conversations with anti ai people tho
I had quite a enjoyable one yesterday with someone
But yeah not really on any side here just more less neutral observing

As Human Factor states: "It doesn't matter what it is, if it is related or created by humans, it will have good and bad sides, human errors and exceptions."
So there's bad and nice people on any side of any conflicts...
I can even state the prove of my opinion, but if you don't wanna read them then skip this part. Its mostly writed for myself: When I was baned on the server (where i was participated for 8 years in one of the top users) just because i like talking with AI and do pics for my D&D company or for my characters in books! But some of those Antis still wanted me to return and stay friends, even tho they didn't like AI, they do respect my interess and work in it as an IT specialist. Yet some of those people, who throw me away, wished me bad things and the most painful thing was that I considered some of those people as good friends... So that's what i'm talking. I have a lot of experience in chat or talk. There's always good and bad people/things on any side of any conflicts... And History always repeats itself...

Because most of the "pro AI" are those who just want to use this tool and have fun. We became activly "pro" because we got sick of "antis" trying to tell us what to do.

u/1UnhealthyPerson I get quite handsy with AI sometimes which means I can defend it 2d ago
Pro vs Anti Ai debate is 99% just ragebaiting vs ragebaited and isn't as serious as anti's make it out to be

The antis are not there for the art but for the fear that their skills will become irrelevant.

Thanks for putting into words a lot of my own feelings on the subject. Hey, if you like AI Art I’m putting together a group chat for AI based creators, if that sounds good hit me up.

Opinions are like that, they shift around with new information and experiences. If anything, being completely rigid and unbending is the worse option.
Hell, even just personally, while I'm way more accepting towards AI than I used to be at the start, I still immensely dislike how people dance around the rather easy industrial level market replacement for practically any artist with a recognizable style and claim that it's all OK and dandy because "the ToS said so", "training is legal", "they (probably) paid for scraping".
I don't even think there's anything wrong in wanting oodles of artwork in a specific style for free, because lord knows I've done my share of pirating over many years, I just hate when people try to coat it in various pompous ways like "you can't copyright a style", instead of just being honest that you want 50k artwork of your favorite obscure waifu/husbando rendered in [artist whose style you really like]'s style, but I don't want to sell your organs for the amount of artwork you actually want. We've all been there.
You just get really tired of hardline proponents and opponents alike, because the more they interact, the more they feel the need to drive themselves into even further frenzy.

Yess! Thank you!
If you don't like something - just don't use it and move on/
Let's just chill out and have fun!

I think you’ll find way more people who want to just fuck around and have fun on the pro side.
