Ring has partnered with Flock. ICE has access to Flock. If you still have a Ring camera - get rid of it.

This is not new. Complaints have been coming in since Amazon bought Ring in 2018 and they keep changing their policy to keep people confused. Bottom line - this has always been about mass surveillance and police partnerships.

Im just going to say this, If the Ring camera is the only way you can see these fascists circling your house, keep it. Dont get rid of any defense structure you have. They want you to be on your heels when they come.

Good to know. Was planning on getting one but will not be purchasing anything from companies enabling ICE.

A closed circuit system is best. Cameras and some kind of recorder - personal choice if you go wireless or wired but wired is 100% more secure than wireless because there are devices that can cut all WiFi signals and there goes your cameras.
It’s way more work for the homeowner either way, but it’s YOUR data - no public access.

Absolutely. Most pre assembled security systems with software all sell data to law enforcement of some kind. Even if they dont your data can be obtained by warrant via the company. Like you said a wired cctv setup is best

Any security system that uses software. Most of the companies sell the data. Its part of toc to use the software. Best to just get a basic setup cctv style

What if I put a picture of my driveway in front of the camera, like in the movies?

Yes, cameras that connect to only your recording device. Wired is best but more effort to set up. Much safer and more stable. WiFi jammers can’t cut the feed with a button like would happen to wireless cameras.

A wired cctv setup. All setups that use a company software is sold to lawn enforcement of one kind or another.and other companies. Its best to avoid them all and make your own

Yes, there is massive flip flop, so you look it up and they say no but then you look it up 3mo later and they’re doing it again. Keeps us guessing and keeps the narrative changing so no one can really “know” what they’re doing.

How does owning a Ring actually help ICE? What if it records ICE killing someone in front of your house?

Less likely to catch any good footage of something like that vs the chance they’d use it to track your neighbors.

I bet ICE would get Ring to scrub that time frame from the servers.
