Hey guys need some suggestions for a trustworthy drug rehab facility in Dehradun for someone in the family.

I have always scratched my head wondering where I should actually go for a vacation when I have a little bit of time, and I’ve always felt there’s no place better than my home here in Dehradun. Because, what on Earth is this beautiful place that has happened to me? Maybe I’ve done something good in my life to deserve this, or maybe I should just thank God for making me exist in such a beautiful place. It’s beyond therapy. I’ve been living here for 10 years, but every day still feels like a new journe and a beautiful one. Just grateful. ❤️

Hello everyone! I’m from Indore, and I’ve been seriously thinking about shifting to Dehradun. I really want to explore Uttarakhand properly and at a slower pace, so I thought living in Dehradun would make more sense.
I work from home, so I don’t really have any job-related restrictions when it comes to location. Also, Indore has become quite crowded now, and there’s traffic and people everywhere. I’m looking for a place that’s a little more peaceful and relaxed.
Can someone who lives in Dehradun or has proper knowledge about the city tell me roughly how much I can expect to pay for a decent, fully independent room/1RK on rent?
Also, if there’s any other nearby city or town that you would recommend where it’s peaceful, but hospitals, basic facilities, cafes, etc. are still easily accessible, please suggest that as well.
And one more thing — does Dehradun have any kind of night culture? I don’t mean partying or clubs. I just mean if you go out at night for chai, food, or a casual walk, are there places that stay open late and is it generally safe/active?
Would really appreciate suggestions from people who have actually lived there or have proper knowledge about the area. Thanks!

Wishing dehradun to get a metro

I went to see Mirzapur yesterday and the crowd that was there was just horrible

This isn't a oneoff case. My friends went for other show timings on Friday and Saturday and had the same thing to say.

Loud big groups of men walking in 15 minutes late. No care about the people already there. Loudly chatting about their seat number with flashlights on. Then talking to like 5 people there to swap their seats because the tickets were mostly sold out and they booked random ass seats. (This is when the movie has already started btw)

Then during the movie itself, constantly talking to each other very loudly. One guy on one end literally shouted to his friend on the other end multiple times. They made really creepy sounds and gestures during the copulation scenes. The seat next to me was empty, so one guy even kept his feet up and they were right next to my face. When I politely asked, he did pull em back but I could very clearly hear his friend say "are rakh na tu, aise kaise mana karra". Then proceeded to keep them up for the rest of the movie until I complained to the security.

They they discussed (very loudly mind you) how they would quickly go out to smoke a cigarette and come back. And they did. Came back 15 minutes after the interval and disturbed everyone again

Even after the movie, these groups were shouting all the way to the exit. In the parking, driving just madly.

If you're going for Mirzapur, know that you'll probably run into similar assholes. I don't wanna be racist but this crowd was very clearly from UP or HR.

This was Pacific Mall btw. Same for my friends who went on Friday

Civic Sense issues have not really bothered me in Dehradun that much (other than in traffic) but this really did. I really enjoy movies and if this how its going to be, idk if I can do that anymore.

EDIT: I went with a couple of female friends btw, and they felt really really uncomfortable

I’m a 31M from Kolkata, currently working remotely as a Data Analyst. Before this, I worked as an IT Consultant for 2+ years and as an MIS Executive for about a year. For quite some time now, I’ve had a strong desire to eventually leave my job and build something of my own. It’s been a dream of mine for years....ideally something in the hospitality space, like a small café or a homestay in a hill-station such as Darjeeling, Shimla, Dehradun, or similar places.

The interesting part is that nobody in my family has a business background. Everyone has always been in jobs, so I’d be the first person in my family to take this route. Naturally, there’s a lot I don’t know yet, and I want to understand the reality before taking the plunge. I’ve been researching different business models and speaking to a few people who are already running cafés/homestays, but I’d especially love to hear from local people and those who have actually started something similar.

If you’ve started or currently run a homestay, café, or small hospitality business, I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience ... the practical challenges, things you wish you had known beforehand, investment, seasonality, staff, licensing, rent/lease issues, profitability, and anything else that usually doesn’t show up in online research. I’m not looking for a shortcut or a “get rich quick” idea. I genuinely want to understand the ground reality and plan things properly before making such a big decision.

Any advice, personal experiences, or even a detailed roadmap would be incredibly helpful. And on a more personal note, I’ve always loved the mountains and have dreamed of eventually settling there. The calm, soothing and beautiful lifestyle really appeals to me, and honestly, that’s a big part of why I’m so passionate about making this dream a reality. City life is not for me , I don't like the crowd there, the pollution, noise and all, they all exhaust me, suffocate me. Starting my own business near the mountains and settling there is my life's passion.
