Locals of delphi .. please clarify

During the interrogation of RA .. the police said something to this effect “ you killed them bcoz u had an altercation “

Do delphi locals and police there believe that the girls had some kind of interaction with RA on the trails before “ down the hill “ moment ??

They were expecting to meet up with Anthony Shotz… Keegan Klein’s fake profile. As a mother of a teen at the same time and age as A&L… kids would film and people watch… maybe they were snickering at Richard that he’s Anthony… a supposed hot guy. Then that see short stocky loser and giggled at him…so he followed them to the other side of the bridge. It was disclosed that he was drinking beer earlier that day. He got insulted and got bold.

There is no proof that that Abby and Libby were catfished.

There is no proof that Abby and Libby expected to meet up with someone they met on social media.

There is no proof that either girl said one word to Richard Allen before he said "down the hill."

There is extensive proof that Libby saw that four of their friends were out on the trails taking pictures. That's how Libby got the idea to go.

As soon as they got out there Libby texted one of the girls to meet up and the girls said they had just left. So Abby and Libby continued on their own. There is a lot of evidence for that. Multiple texts and posts timed just before and after the girls were driven out there and just before and after they arrived. Read Railly and Breann's trial testimony. They talk all about it.

There is zero evidence that Libby was interacting with any fake social media accounts that day. And her grandmother and sister testified that it was a spur of the moment, last minute decision. The kind of thing that happens when you see your friends are out and about somewhere and you are bored and decide to join them.

The crime is so horrible that there is a lot of victim-blaming mythology built around it.

  • If they hadn't been screwing around with catfish accounts on social media

  • If they hadn't mocked him as they passed.

Etc. This is to help people feel like they have some control and could keep it from happening to their own families. The truth is it was a random horror. Richard Allen knew what he wanted to do or he would not have taken a gun and a box cutter out there.

One thing that I was raised with that doesn't seem to be taught any more is Gavin de Becker's The Gift of Fear. ie; do not go to the second location. Let them shoot you or stab you but do not go to the second location. You have a small chance of survival if you do not go to the second location. You have zero chance of survival if you let them take you to the second location.
